WandaVision (2021)
Apart from the first 3 episodes it's a nice series
I didn't like the first 2 episodes. They were dull and the jokes absolutely didn't work for me. Couldn't believe why others in IMDb are praising these two episodes. I would have slept for an hour if not for the fast forward option. Don't really understand why this show was created. I'm watching this only because it connects to Dr. Strange 2. Otherwise would have skipped this. There's no hope that the coming episodes will be good. Well they all say there's only one way when you have it rock bottom. Up.
Edit: The story starts from 4th episode and it's interesting. Makes you wonder why the hell they made the first 3 episodes when they could have started right from 4th episode.
Sangatsu no Lion (2016)
The Best Slice of Life Anime?
Firstly this is one of the most underrated anime I have ever come across. Not even the anime blogs that I follow have mentioned about this gem. It might be that since the main lead is a Shogi player and the game is not that popular across the world. But don't let that obstruct you from having a go at this.
There are 2 seasons released as of now and the story is still running in the Manga.
The 1st season starts off the story introducing us with wide variety of characters, all pretty well structured. We gradually get to know the past and present of Rei Kiriyama and his struggles to lead a life as a pro Shogi player. His relationship with the three Kawamoto sisters are thing to gaze upon.
The 2nd season gets deeply into the lives of all the characters and shows how each are overcoming their difficulties to lead a happy life. Especially Hinata's story is the most gripping one as she encounters hardships at school.
The dialogues are outstanding in this anime. I would suggest to watch the English dubbed version. They have done a wonderful job in retaining the core emotions in every scene.
Overall this anime sure comes into my top 5 favourite anime of all time.
Peaky Blinders (2013)
5 Reasons to watch this show:
1. Plot: It's a story set in between two world wars, about a man who rises above all his obstacles to form a powerful gangster family in England.
2. Acting: The cast overall has a unit brings out the best in them with standout performance from Cillian Murphy (Thomas Shelby).
(can't believe he has not received a Emmy for this role)
3. Cinematography: Visuals are a piece of artwork with stunning backgrounds that capture old age England.
(Slow-motion shoots are a thing to watch)
4. Character Development: The show comes second best to Breaking Bad in terms of Character Development (which is a great feat by itself). The characters of the Shelby family grow beyond hardships to narrate us a gripping story along with the main character.
5. Music: All the above mentioned points are taken to new heights by the Background Scores. Theme music (Red Right Hand) sets you up to the tone of the show.
You (2018)
Reasons for YOU to watch "YOU"
The show starts off being a bit creepy when you include the stalker aspects but the story evolves as it progresses. The series revolves around the Protagonist/Antagonist Joe who would do anything for his love Beck.(When I say anything it covers everything...). The best thing about the show is the constant voiceover that helps us see the story in Joe's Point of view. The twists and turns in the story hits us by a surprise and adds some spice to the already interesting plot. You can say that it takes some inspirations from Dexter in the department of crime but it stays true to its flavours. It has 10 episodes which is adopted from the book (with the same name). The Cliffhangers in this series are a big deal as it emphasizes you to Binge watch the whole series at a stretch. It does objectify women a bit but you will get over it. Overall this is a Must Watch Stalker Psychological Thriller. (P.S: 9th episode was Awesome)
Atypical (2017)
A Light Hearted Series about life of an autistic teenager
As you would have known before the show centers around an 18 year old teenager with autism going through a lot of changes in his life. It also deals with the events that happen within the lead family. This show connects well with the viewers with its frank conversations about life and love.
First season revolves around the lead cope with his life in high school and with the events that occur in his family.
Second season focus more on the family members of the lead. They undergo some changes with the lead as he undergo a transition from high school to college.
The show has a unique way of dealing with the troubles of life with its dialogues and animal references. You can definitely appreciate the work done in the writing department of the series. The storyline and screenplay never fails to impress you.
Overall its a good series to binge watch if you haven't.
Dark (2017)
It's not like Stranger Things but more related to Westworld.
This is a show that is so complex in it's nature. You would definitely want to appreciate the efforts done on storytelling. The screenplay is so intense that it will gradually increase your thought process as the show progresses. To sum it up, the first 5 episodes were slow paced but were important for the next 5 episodes which were extraordinary!!!
