Meet Me in St. Louis (1944)
The only appealing part is Tootie's darkness
Meet Me In St. Louis is probably one of the most annoying films I've seen. It might just be the style of acting in 1944 or singing any old time without purpose. It's a beautifully stylized film-costumes, set design, time period accuracy, makeup and hair styles-just exquisite! I loved the walk-thru-the-year; Halloween was especially unique- exciting seeing traditions from the early last century. I found the acting and extreme drama to be very irritating. Tootie was the best part with her incredibly morose and creepy personality and her maniacal laughter. She was very entertaining. Honestly, I don't get what all the fuss and high scores are about.
Downey's Dream Cars (2023)
great show about where we need to be
Love this show; innovative brilliant people bringing new ideas to an outdated industry. One of the reviewers here is mad about RDJ pushing his "green agenda"; where do you think everything is going? If you don't like learning about the future of the car industry, there are plenty of shows about gas guzzlers-go watch those. The automobile industry is going electric/hybrid/self driving.
In the next 10-15 years, all cars will need to be electric-it's awesome! No one will take your gas powered car away from you but wouldn't it be great to not have to pay for gas anymore? This show is not only funny and entertaining, it's educational. Embrace and grow!
Gunpowder Milkshake (2021)
What's not to like?
Exciting, fun, great cast, great gore. This doesn't need to be overthought. It seems like people don't like the women being the badasses in this. We need more of these! Action! Fight scenes! Bassett! Yeah! Thank you!
Epic Home Haunts (2018)
Replacing trick or treating?!?
This is a fun show and I am a big Halloween decorated for our truck or treaters. I'm just not sure why they keep saying it replaced trick or treating or that it's not safe anymore. I've never not had trick or treaters and it just gets bigger every year. Maybe they are just trying to promote their hone haunts? The neighborhood down the street from me gets about 3000 kids.
I do like the innovation and I've been to the Rottne Apple one-so great!
The Invisible Man (2020)
Predictable
When you drop your medication and your abusive boyfriend picks it up. When you stop several times on your escape. When you wave your flashlight around everywhere when your life is one the line. When you get a fortune and the next scene you are haunted by your invisible "dead" boyfriend. I wish we could have great horror films under the Universal Studios banner again.
The Wolfman (2010)
Beautiful Gothic Horror
The Wolfman is gothic horror at its finest. Not only are the makeup effects brilliant, the are married so well with the visual effects. Del Toro emulates all of the sad darkness of Chaney Jr's performance. Sets, locations, costuming are all stunning. Enjoy!
Becoming (2020)
Loved the book, loved this film
Thank you more wonderful insight into our very missed family. Humor, class, and uplifting moments are throughout this film for everyone.
