Don't Look Up (2021)
I'm surprised it wasn't banned. Must have upset some bigwigs
Bravo for the actors for blatantly mocking the current state of politics and global discord in general. I have no doubt that should we face an event like this it would be a battle to convince people and cull skepticism and conspiracies. Some great performances from an array of big names but the star for me was Mark Rylance great casting and he nailed the roll.
I was expecting an onslaught of guilt tripping about global warming for some reason, I must have read the wrong memo. Instead, what I witnessed was stark reminder that society is in a deathgrip with itself, and a growing need for us to becoming far less polarized and show empathy towards each other. How this happens is anyone's guess, sadly, if anything we seem to be like the comet, and heading for a mass explosion.
The Lincoln Lawyer (2022)
I lasted 13 mins
I admit, I am hard to please with film and TV but for good reason, I loath wasting time on unrealistic garbage. When will people write scripts that actually sound like normal human interaction.... The dialogue is so fake it hurts.
How anyone buys into this stuff is beyond me.
Gangs of London (2020)
Am I missing something?
Yes it's violent, but not sure why that is gaining this extra points, the lead actor is far too weak for this and ruins it for me, it's just same old same old annoying script and acting. That said, It just must be me as I just can't seem to find anything that holds my attention anymore, so frustrating 😕
Bad Boys for Life (2020)
Are you kidding me with these reviews
I loved first 2, the second one I particular.......however this was a car crash from the get go.... the story line was total crap and some of the characters are just laughable. I can't believe this was made under the bad boy franchise, it is a travesty.
Ozark (2017)
First season was interesting..... second season ???
Why do they have to go so dark and depressing the second season of Ozark is morbid and pointless.... I liked the first season a lot but I can even be bothered to go past episode 6 in the second season it's like watching Eastenders.
The Confession Tapes (2017)
Gripping, scary and sad
I know the people behind these documentary's have an agenda so I am not completely suckered into there bias, however I have seen too many examples of the crazy US justice system failing to ignore them. It's hard for the vast majority of people to contemplate committing a murder, it's equally as hard to contemplate giving a false confession, however in a number of these cases it is clear that there were horrendous tactics, lies and oversights by the police and prosecutors who are all incentivized to get cases closed as quickly as possible, seemingly without caring if they are putting people in jail for most of, if not all of there lives without doing the actual investigation. It seems like once they have you locked into their target, it doesnt matter what actually happened you are going down...... Which to me is as scary as some of the crimes committed. There are some bad people in the world that do unthinkable things, which have been aloud to continue doing them because of the arrogance and corrupted nature of some law enforcement.
StartUp (2016)
could of be good......
I had to give up after 4 episodes, I really wanted to like this as the premise is good. but the script is awful and I some of the acting likewise.....how you are supposed to believe the way this all comes together beyond me.....along with the OTT sex scenes which are completely unnecessary and add nothing to the story. Martin freedman is good but despite his best efforts I couldn't bare anymore. disappointed.
