BloodRayne 2 (2004)
the 'Kill Bill' of video games
The plot of this truly awesome video game is basically Bloodrayne going to kill off her whole family because her vampire father killed off her human mother and her family. Since Rayne, as she's known, is half-vampire,or a dhampir, she feeds off the blood off her victims for health and is hurt by sunshine. Her weapons are two blades that slice victims up, two pistols that use blood for ammo, and a harpoon to toss people off rails, into sharp objects, into other people, etc. The reason I refer to this as the 'Kill Bill' of video games is because it is gory as hell. Rayne's feeding fatalities, activated by attacking while feeding, all cause victims to lose various body parts, impaling is "rewarded" with blood spray, and even normal attacks can cause the loss of body parts. In summary, if your expecting plot, stay away. But for mindless entertainment, you can do no better than this. rated M for Mature
Psycho III (1986)
Man, Norman can't get a break... *spoilers for this and the original*
Let's see, he kills his girlfriend in the original Psycho because he adores his mom and believes she told him to (Ed Gein, anyone?) and in this one he sends his (hot) new girlfriend to a one way trip down the stairs on accident. This scene could be better but wasn't too bad. Many sequences were nicely done ( a cop sucking on bloody ice cubes, a phone booth murder referencing the shower scene in Psycho) and the acting was good for the most part. Psycho III did what few slasher movies do for the killer, successfully make the killer sympathetic instead of pathetic. However i didn't personally care for the character of Duke as he seemed too one dimensional for a major character. This is a must-see for Psycho fans and slasher fans.
Mortal Kombat: Deception (2004)
Tight
This game completely kicks ass. The Konquest mode is fun, but too easy. The arcade mode (should be arkade, lol) is insanely hard but still fun, chess is a real blast (especially when a trap is tripped), puzzle kombat is fun, the characters are mostly fun but if midway is reading this separate Noob Saibot and Smoke please. The fatalities and suicides aka Hara Kiris, are sometimes cool and sometimes bland but always bloody. Stage fatalities, now activated at any time are awesome. the new characters are incredibly powerful, especially a demoness on the way to purification, Ashrah. Throw in background weapons and multitiered stages, and you have a kickass game.
Spider-Man 2 (2004)
pretty good **SPOILERS**
Wow, this movie is a pretty good sequel. While the first movie was basically a "see what we can do" film, the second one is based around the characters more. The acting is varied. Tobey Macguire is awesome as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Kirsten Dunst is OK as Mary-Jane Watson, but I personally believe that Cate Blanchett would fit the role better. Whoever played Harry Osborn is good, but **spoiler** am i the only one that thinks that Harry was a pussy during the party scene? I mean girls slap, guys punch **end spoilers**. Everyone else does a good job. The bad guy was very emotional though. I mean **spoilers** going on a rampage because ur wife died?** end spoilers** I give it 9 and 3/4 * out of 10*, docking a quarter of a star for some poor parts
