Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024)
No wonder the orginal creators left
Doesn't give justice to the original whatsoever. Feels way too rushed. Absolutely average.
Why can't Netflix stick to the original writing? Why do they have to ruin a perfect show. Great opportunity lost to really make something amazing.
They had the budget. They had the good cgi. But it still doesn't work because the original humor is no where present. Sokka absolutely sucks.
Netflix did a great job with "one piece". Biggest reason for it's success though was the original creator was controlling things. It just works when the original creators are on board.
Netflix lost the plot on this one. Absolutely dispointed to see such a great opportunity thrown away like this. Feels like the creators have not even watched the original. Total Thumbs down from me. 👎👎👎👎👎
Vir Das: For India (2020)
Excellent Writing
This is Vir Das simply being Vir Das. Loved the way the set looked and the simplicity in which he spoke about the biggest topics which perhaps could be controversial.
The door on the set is symbolic in more ways than one and throughout his special we are reminded of the same.
Highly recommended for Indians.
Non-Indians wouldn't be disappointed as well.
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013)
Excellent(a bit too long)
I don't really do this but I'd like to make an exception in this case. The movie is excellent. Great way of story telling. The story is about one man but he is not the only one who plays the role exceedingly well. After watching this I don't think any one who acted in this film was remotely bad. They all acted amazingly well and gave true justice to their own characters.
Only drawback that i can mention here is the time. i think the movie is a bit too long. For the first 2 and half hours i didn't really feel the need to look at my watch.
Overall a refreshing film with excellent story and great acting.
The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
Excellent
What is great about this movie is that it is story-driven unlike the dark knight(one of my all time favorite)which was character-driven(Joker). A complete story which stands on its own and makes this movie an epic. I had read somewhere that this trilogy had a theme for every movie. For the first one it was Fear, Second was Chaos and Third is Pain. And I truly believe that Mr.Christopher Nolan has captured these emotions in this trilogy. An Epic end to an Epic journey indeed. Thanks Mr.Nolan for giving us the Batman the way it's supposed to be. I truly recommend not just this movie but the complete trilogy, as after watching these three movies you will know 1.what made Batman 2.What does he stand for 3.what should we remember him for. Thanks once again Mr.Nolan, you have indeed outdone yourself..... yet again.
