Surface (2022)
It was entertaining and well acted, but would have made a better movie
I thought the lead female and male where both excellent actors. Don't listen to all the crazies about this movie being woke. Not a clue what they are talking about. Unless you don't like a white man with a black woman. (We all know that's called something else...not woke) sad that a good show has crappy reviews. I enjoyed it. Especially since I didn't have to commit to a second season. It could have easily been a movie instead of a series though. It's worth the watch.
Death on the Nile (2022)
Finally a good movie! Well made and beautiful
Branagh was excellent as Poirot. The emotions that he portrayed made me want to be fully engaged. The movie was stunning and the acting was amazing....except for Gadot. She never makes it believable for me. I gave this movie my full attentions which rarely happens anymore. I read Agatha Christie's book and I believe that she would have been thrilled with how this movie turned out. The visuals alone are worth it to watch this movie.
The Rental (2020)
Tense and engaging
This is a suspense film with creepy moments. Real characters that you don't necessarily like, but may relate to. It was well done and the actors were exceptional. The story was interesting and kept me completely engaged. I don't normally write reviews, but can't understand that bad reviews here. I'm beginning to think people just want a movie to be ALL horror or ALL action. The only part I did not like was the girl with a hurt ankle running through the woods making WAY too much noise. WHY!!!??? I would never do that. Most woman I know would never do this. Whimpering and having to cover our mouths so we don't scream. Nope! I am pretty sick of seeing woman portrayed like this in scary movies. Other than that, it was the best suspense I've seen since the strangers, but with a much better story and character development.
