Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan (2020)
Bollywodd heading in the Right Direction.. Jitendra Kumar Overshadowing Ayushmann..
Manoj Bajpayee in Aligarh, Kalki Koechlin in Margarita with a Straw, Shabana Azmi in Fire, Fawad Khan in Kapoor and Sons paved the way for Ayushman Khurana and Subh Mangal Zyada Savdhaan to take the torch and take it forward. And man they just took it and ran with it.
We all know what the movie is so I am going to skip over the fact. Lets talk about performances.
The love ballad Mere Liye Tum Kaafi Ho sets the mood of the movie at the beginning..
Ayushman as Kartick is a little over the top but portrays the part effortlessly and he is instantly likeable. The chemistry between him and Jeetu is charming, cute and adorable. Kartick is not afraid of the world, he does PDA and all that. But when it comes to family we get to see the vulnerability in his character. That how he is a scared little boy, just looking for acceptance from his boyfriend's family and he will go to any distance for making it possible. Ayushman is on a streak. This guys is total genius, choosing the correct scripts all the time and then bringing them to life on the big screen beautifully.
In the middle of the movie Ayushman says that Gay guys have a continuous fight with the world for their identity, but the most difficult fight is with the family and their acceptance. Herein lies the essence of the movie.
Gajraj Rao and Neena Gupta were awesome as usual. But they did fall short a bit as compared to theri chemistry in Badhai Ho.
Mani Rishi and Sunita Rajwar as chacha and chachi were far better than them. Infact their chemistry was much better than Gajraj and Neena's.
Maanvi Gaagroo as Goggle was just plain simple awesome. Damn hilarious and lovable.
The surprise package of the movie was Jitendra Kumar AKA Jeetu Bhaiya. Jeetu Bhaiya as Aman Tripathi steals the show. He is instantly likeable, plus his boy next door charm is just very endearing. Acting alongside Ayushmann and still manage to hold his place and make more impact than him is a commendable act.
To sum it up it was a movie in the right direction and Writer Director Hitesh Kewalya deserves all the accolades.
A must watch. With Family is possible.
Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
The Movie of the Year.. Breathtaking and Beautiful...
Making things clear this is a no spoler review.. Really don't wanna spoil the movie coz it is definately a movie to be experienced... In 3D or in IMAX if thats available... The movie is a visual treat...
After being pushed to end credit scenes and Cameos the Mad Titan comes in the limelight.... And boy he does not dissapoint.. He is the meanest creature in the Universe.. Hell bent on wiping half the population of the universe he embarks on the mission to collect all 6 infinity stones.. Josh Brolin as the Mad Titan Thanos nails it and even though he is CGI bt the motion capture nails it and bring out the emotions perfectly..
If I start writing individually about all the characters then this review will go for pages and pages coz there are a lot nd by lot i mean hell lotta characters...
So to cut it short.. Everyone played their part nicely and got decent screen time..
The Russo Brothers (Joe and Anthony) deserve special mention because handling so many characters is not easy and other people might have failed miserably. But the Russos nail it. Giving each character ample screen time and push the storyline and character arc of every character forward..
It was the penultimate episode of 10 years of the MCU. And trust me this is not your run of the mill Marvel movie. This movie will evoke emotions in you which you never thought existed... Its a roller-coaster ride and it is worth taking...
So go to a theater near you and catch this brilliant piece of movie which will stay with you evern after you leave the theatre...

Padmaavat (2018)
Beautiful but had more potential
Finally saw the visual extravaganza... Well Mr. Bhansali did not disappoint.. But saying that I must add that the movie has its shortcomings.. This is what happens when a persons creative freedom is taken away from him and he has to appease a certain political party... I believe a more crisp and tight movie could have been made had Bhansali had the chance to release his original movie...
But taking away nothing from the movie.. Each frame was like a master piece... A painting.. It was a visual treat.. But saying that the script could have been a little tighter... Just putting up a visual treat on the big screen doesn't mean it's a good movie, a good story and screenplay is equally important and Padmavati oops sorry Padmavat lacks in this department..
Shahid Kapoor was okay.. He actually was not fitting the part of a Rajput King.. Had Hrithik done it, I am sure the movie would have turned out much better... But Shahid did catch up in the second half and tried a lot and it was quiet evident..
Deepika was as usual BEAUTIFUL... She looked gorgeous on screen... She looked her part.. A Queen whose beauty is uncontested in the world... Kudos to Deepika for pulling off the role with ease...
Jim Sarbh was the surprise.. Portraying a character such as Khafur requires guts and he did it with ease... But saying so we should look out for this actor because he got some mean acting chops up his sleeves.. Aditi Rao Hydari was also good and essayed her role beautifully of Khilji's wife...
Ranveer Singh... You my man are AWESOME... You showed what it is meant by getting under the skin of a character and not letting it go even for a bit... Hats off for pulling off Allaudin Khilji with such menace... You my Man stole the show... Nobody, I mean nobody could have done it better than you... I see a lot of awards for you in the upcoming awards season..
All in all to sum it up.. The movie has its shortcomings, but its a much watch and should not be missed..
P.S. I still do not get what the hullabulloo was about the Jauhar scene.. It was her choice.. She chose her honour, the honour of her husband and the honour of her land instead of just surrendering herself to Khilji's whims.. She in the end defeated Khilji mentally which was even a bigger victory...
P.S.S. I also don't get why the Karni Sena was opposing the movie. It glorifies and embodies all the values that being a Rajput signifies. All the more they should endorse the movie more.
Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
It's Super Freaking Awesome...!!!
It was Super Freaking Awesome....
Super duper awesome.... Tom Holland nailed it... He was damn good as the friendly neighbourhood Spiderman...
Micheal Keaton as Vulture was also damn good. He nailed the part of a cunning villain with undertones of a person who believes in what he is doing is good... He was damn good...
Even though it was touted that RDJ will have a bigger role in the movie. It was not the case. He came on screen just and when it was required. With his usual charm and flair he stole the thunder from Tom Holland every single time..
Peter Parkers sidekick Ned was also good.. Zendaya and all other supporting actors played their part well...
With awesome comedy timings from the whole cast and kick ass action sequences.. This movie is a must watch for all Spiderman and non Spiderman fans alike...
P. S. The signature tune of Avengers playing in the background is bound to give hardcore Marvel fans goosebumps...

Dangal (2016)
The Movie of the Year... A MUST WATCH...
To call Dangal the movie of the year would be an understatement...
Dangal is a roller-coaster of emotion... You laugh, cry, feel motivated, have an adrenaline rush all through the journey...
Dangal is an experience..
When Aamir Khan makes a movie and it is touted as the movie of the year then you know he means business... Aamir comes with all guns blazing and makes sure he hits the bulls eye every single time.. He plays the role of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat with ease and finesse... With a massive range of emotions under his belt he portrays the role of the father to Geeta and Babita excellently... One of the finest performance of the year...
Dangal brings out the best in the girls portraying Gita and Babita... All 4 of them.. The younger versions and the Adult version both... All gave excellent performances... Zaira and Wasim gave brilliant performances as the younger versions of Geeta and Babita.. Fatima and Sanya were just brilliant and gave a fine and nuanced performance as the adult Geeta and Babita... Bollywood should watch out for these two brilliant young actresses...
Equally supported by a very subtle and fine performance by Sakshi Tanvar.. Aparshakti Khurana was also good...
All in all a MUST WATCH... An awesome way to end your year....
