Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013)
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag: SALUTE the "Flying Sikh".
A man's struggle to make a mark by pushing the limits till the point where your eyes cant follow your dreams.
Milkha Singh the flying sikh of India. This movie makes you come out SPELLBOUND and SPEECHLESS. This is truly one of the greatest movie of this year or few years coming or gone by.Its truly the best BIO-PIC painted on the silver screen. Farhan Akhtar as Milkha Singh is absolutely brilliant, he has lived the character to its core. Divya Dutta as Milkha's sister is top-notch. Prakash Raj and support cast add flavour. Sonam is cameo to notice. Songs are delight to watch. Prasoon Joshi's script writing and lyrics is brilliant. Rakesh Omprakash Mehra has proved yet again why is he critics favourite.
When was the last time tears ran a mile out of pride and happiness. As far my memory it was climax of Chakde India!!!. The minute Milkha Singh runs entire screen hears the roar of whistles and claps standing by the lead.
Watch this great movie. Watch this one for our HERO
Lootera (2013)
Lootera: Beautiful Art..
Lootera is a beautiful art of its own kind. Its light, expressive, warm, kind of romance drawn on a huge canvas. A love tale of two people following a new age period cantata. Roughly based on short story "The Last Leaf" by 'O.Henry'. The movie follows a slow yet powerful romance. The movie has comparatively less dialogues and more of creating an beautiful aura around with its expressions. Vikramaditya Motwane (Udaan Fame) has painted a beautiful canvas to show the world that simplicity is more powerful than anything subject. Sonakshi Sinha as Pakhi is top-notch, she is the heart and soul of the movie. Ranveer singh (Varun) is great, he lacks punch in 1or2 odd scenes but overall an actor to look out for.
Very rare comes an art film which handles a potential of standing tall for any commercial cinema.Lootera is an "MASTERPIECE", yes the movie has its flaws to an minimal margin but proves very powerful overall. Amit Trivedi add the perfect tune to make it delightful. Cinematographer Mahendra Shetty is the real hero to captures and portray each and every expression to its perfection.
Watch Lootera for sure. Cheers !!!
World War Z (2013)
World War Z: Zombies on the roll.
World War Z is about an dreadful virus spread across many nations. One Spec Ops put his foot forward to find the reason and try getting an answer for it. Its powerful as an content, fun for action lovers as things keep happening which doesn't allow any Loo Breaks for audience.Zombies are on an roll this time as they are fast, senses details very fast and are hungry for living body. Brad pitt is great as usual.
The movie begins with a short intro to the main character and his family (it was enough, it told me all I needed to know) before launching into a fantastic, break neck sequence that establishes the pace for most of the rest of the movie. It's violent, visceral and shocking without any reliance in gore. The tension is racked up (especially in the escape from the apartment block sequence) with a series of spectacular set pieces (the walls of Jerusalem scene is brilliant) and things get better and bigger until the film slows the pace for the final reel with a slow burning, smaller scale sequence set in a WHO research lab in the UK. It's an unusual choice to end a movie with the smallest set piece, but it worked well for me as it was in line with Gerry's quest and the (stated in the movie) fact that the answer is often so small it gets overlooked.
World War Z is perfect masala entertainer. Prefer watching it in 2-D as there is no room for 3-D.Cheers !!!
Ghanchakkar (2013)
Ghanchakkar - Avoid this Ghanchakkar.
Ghanchakkar is about a heist which leads to nowhere. A man suffering from partial memory loss and attracts all the shouts and tension. Its a great plot but very poorly handled. The movie goes in wrong direction leading the audience to NO-WHERE land. The only saving factor is performances from the leads. The most irritating part is the second half where the characters are just shouting and screaming which really didn't add any quirk to the dialogues. Emraan and Vidya acted really well but the director played it bad.But unfortunately bad writing, screenplay and climax makes it even worse. Its starts as a comic-thriller but ends up on a serious note. I was surely expecting another BLUFFMASTER. (Arrrghhh)
So i can just say its the audience who become GHANCHAKKAR.
Raanjhanaa (2013)
Raanjhanaa: Love is Colorful !!!
Raanjhanaa is a story of a man's undying emotions towards his love. It is a colorful tale of his raunchiness, fun, passion, struggle, pain, happiness, etc. I was truly surprised by DHANUSH here. I remember telling my friend why should i pay for a guy who looks bad than me :P. I was truly wrong, this guy stunned me by his act. He is a character actor and carries his own persona. This movie is purely made for Dhanush. Sonam looks and acts beautiful. Abhay deol adds the charm. Special mention to Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub (Murari) and Swara Bhaskar (Bindiya) for outstanding support to the leads. Yes it drags in certain points and break you nerves but its ignorable. Overall a good film to watch and come out with smile :) Watch this one for Sonam and Dhanush's overwhelming performance and maestro A.R.Rahman's excellent music. Njoy the color :)
Fukrey (2013)
Excellent Jugaad !!!
Fukrey: Excellent JUGAAD !!!
Fukrey is one of those movies which wouldn't let you stop laughing for any moment. The humor is so spontaneous that most of the times you'd laugh out of surprise. It's a fresh script, thematic, and doesn't rely on one-liners to get you in splits. The storyline is compelling and witty. The movie is buoyed up with well-sketched characters portrayed so perfectly by the actors, which is a boon for the movie. The real flavor of Delhi's lower-middle class mannerism and lingo is accentuated by the cinematography that focuses on the respective areas rather than 'Dilli-Darshan' (Voyaging Delhi). The script might be silly or illogical to many, but that is what creates the humor here! It's not an intellectual comedy, but it ain't stupid as well. It's well-balanced between the two. Songs are great special mention "Ambarasiya" and "Rabba". Great and lovable performances by the FUKREYSSS.....
Watch this one for sure :)
Now You See Me (2013)
"Now you See Me" : The closer you observe the less you will see.
Its one of the best of this year. A concept of 4 street magicians making big in US with an bank robbery and the events followed after that. Its engaging right from first sequence. Its fast paced,mind-crackling and the more you think you can predict the movie opposite it appear which keep you stunned. Great performances by all specially Jesse (still in social network phase), Mark Rufallo, etc. It makes you want to go back and see it twice to understand it better, and just like all magic tricks, some of it can't be explained and you are left with no answer but to believe that what you saw was true. And to me that's fun Trust me you will not get each and everything in one go. To understand magic and its illusion you need to see couple of times. It has a lot of wit, clever plot, suspense, magic, humor, twists, and action.Loved it :) Aabra ka Daabra ..... You will go KABOOM !!!!!!!!!
