This show just keeps getting better - ep 5 is the best of a very strong 5 eps so far. Particularly loved the drone pilot stuff & the Jack Ryan / Mousa S messaging scene over the game console! The wife on the run subplot is great too!

Waste of a stellar cast

Season 2 starts strong & the cast is universally amazing but the story fades about halfway through the 8 episode run. The ideas become more ridiculous & only a cast this good could sell such a weak plot. I wanted to love it - season 1 was excellent - & the LA legal stuff was good, the hostage situ in Mexico was strong, but the weird surgery stuff & the final ep just undermines it all. Ep 8 is also about 30% useless flashback (story padding) & there were a lot of great dramatic scenarios just thrown away in a single scene (eg Courtney escaping Tom when he orders her out of the car. All that potential dramatic jeopardy just thrown away)
A real shame as the legal stuff is as good as ever, the cartel roots have so much potential and Billy & Patty are sooo watchable. Perhaps season 2 tried too hard to emulate some of the quirkier elements in season 1, and some of the creative story decisions in season 2 were just too weak. Would be very surprised if the cast sign up for more.

Really liked this! It was easy to watch & definitely held my attention all the way through. There were twists I didn't see coming and that keep you guessing plus the characters were well-drawn and believable. At the end of part one I was really keen to see part two! Always a good sign.
John Hannah should be on TV more often! He's great in it. The other performances were very strong too but it made me realise I hadn't seen him in anything for a while. I didn't recognise the lead actress but thought she was very good & had a lot to do & she did it well. Thought the story was great with a lot of tension - kept me guessing! Funny, sad, people's lives are complicated etc. As good as a night in with a good book. Watch it!
