Killers of the Flower Moon (2023)

This film's attempt at historical accuracy falls flat as the main actor, seemingly ageless, takes on a role meant for someone much younger. The result is a cringe-worthy portrayal that leaves you questioning the casting choices and the movie's commitment to realism.

Hijack (2023)
Lost me in 1st episode
You want to alienate your viewers? How about you portray the leader of a flight crew, the person who has the most training to deal with adverse scenarios, as a weak teenager with zero ability to respond to a hijacking. As soon as he decides to open the door to the cockpit, and believe me it didn't take very long, this show ejected me from whatever second rate setting it has going for it up to that point.
Up to that point I'd always given a pass to the ridiculous character interactions, the unbelievable storyline, and the confusing choices in casting.
I hope you all enjoy this one more than me, but I'm out.
Secret Invasion (2023)
Incredibly boring
I'm sorry folks, I did my best to get interested in the first episode. I lasted about 5 minutes before I had to resort to chemical encouragement, and that then continued for the rest of the episode and resulted in a much-improved experience. Please reach out if you'd like any cocktail recommendations to last through this episode. I will not be coming back for the 2nd, I think my doctor would object to the weekly punishment of my liver.
I guess to provide a quality review I should provide some specific feedback - they have an A+ cast, the settings are well-designed and immersive, but the storyline is muddled and has too many indistinguishable subplots to build a connection between the viewer and any one character.
I hope you have a better viewing experience than I did.
Downton Abbey (2010)
Early seasons were easily 10, by the end a 7
Characters like Mary, Cora, and Thomas incessantly drag the show downward. Season 5 might as well just follow Mary the whole time, since her exploits and drama ruin every episode. Hate to punish the show for the poor writing revolving around a few characters, but you remove a few characters or focus on different ones (more emphasis on Robert, Tom, the cooking staff, and Edith) and this show could easily be 10 stars.
Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes (2019)
Some reviewers expecting way too much from 4 episodes
I thought it was a great summary of the case and had an efficient corporation of both news reports and the jailhouse interviews. Most of the negative reviews mention a lack of information given the large scope of the case... but the whole series is only 4 episodes. Regarding the case, it's interesting that the first conviction was reached primarily on bite mark science, which could almost never be used as a major piece of evidence in today's time due to its extreme objectivity.
The Punisher (2017)
Secondary characters ruin the show
I slogged my way through season 1, painfully watching the Madani scenes in the hopes that she would catch a bullet by the end of each episode. Season 2's characters are even worse. The 4 stars this show earns are solely on the back of Jon Bernthal's performance, but unfortunately the majority of the show's playback isn't even comprised of the title character. The action and backstory of Frank Castle is riveting, but we're forced to watch hours of monotonous and predictable scenes with Madani and Russo.
The Haunting of Hill House (2018)
Great with exception of one casting choice
I though it was an excellent portrayal of the real life effects that undiagnosed mental disorders can have on an entire family. I was extremely disappointed with the performance by Timothy Hutting as the older version of Hugh. His acting style was not fitting for that role and caused the middle of the series to drag out into trailer trash drama.
