Buffy the Vampire Slayer: I Only Have Eyes for You (1998)
really good story and acting
I am here as an Angel fan, but was surprised by how well this was written. I really like the premise and the way they managed to synch the two stories- James and grace vs Buffy and Angel. Love how Angel was Grace and Buffy was James- nice switch. And it works because of the chemistry and acting, of course.
Read somewhere in an interview that Joss W decided David could anchor his own show after watching him act out Grace in this episode. Couldn't agree more.
Bones: The Priest in the Churchyard (2007)
Dr Brennan a bit over the top?
First a shout out to Bones Booth podcast for making me write a review on imdb:-). This is my second rewatch of Bones series.
Like the episode. I thought the writers made Dr Brennan more obnoxious than necessary, specially during the interrogations - she literally snatches pages out of Booth's hands, makes really offensive comments ( I am not religious at all still...) which is a bit over the top in this episode. Love Booth's interactions with the priest.
The case is not that difficult so the episode is mainly for the tension between the leads. Booth is an intelligent FBI guy, he may not be a scientist and may not know Wiilliam Blake's poems but I do not get why he keeps asking "what?" after each statement by Dr Fry.
Jarring facts in otherwise fairly enjoyable episode.
Bandhan (1969)
Very strong story and strong performances
This movie has very very strong script and very good performances. Rajesh Khanna's performance as a young farmer reminds one of Dilip Kumar. The story is riveting, the tension between the father and son, and the son's suffering because his mother is suffering from the father's bad deeds is very well handled, with shades of gray and not black and white. Rajesh And Mumtaz of course sizzle on the screen with their amazing on screen chemistry but what I loved most are the scenes between the mother (Achala Sachdev) and the son (Rajesh Khanna). The scene when Rajesh is trying to convince his mother that he wants to marry Mumtaz so that his mother should not be lonely, is very hilarious and well-acted and so is the scene when Rajesh asks her what she ever got out of this marriage when she points to him and says 'you'!, that is so touching! The courtroom drama is well done and very emotional as well. Why Sanjeev Kumar needs to shout as the lawyer is very puzzling. Rajesh's girlfriend Anju Mahendru also acts well. Overall a fast-paced and well-directed movie and a great watch!
Souten (1983)
Good performances
This movie was a nice surprise for me in the sense after reading the plot summary, I expected it to be a boring tearjerker. It still is melodramatic because of the ending which I did not like, but the performances, specially by Padmini Kolhapure and Rajesh Khanna are really really good. These two have a good chemistry ( see Insaaf Mein Karoonga) and they really feed off each other in dramatic/emotional scenes. Tina Munim's character was really one-dimensional. Shriram Lagoo also is a very good actor but the whole untouchable thing felt too dated for me,really, in 1983 Mauritus? Great songs, beautiful scenery and a good enough story which is well directed. So a good watch for me and a must watch if you love Rajesh Khanna.

Great acting and great chemistry between Rajesh and Sharmila
This is really a beautiful movie. Rajesh Khanna's portrait of a married man after having a kid is right on the money. He looks gorgeous as usual but his acting just blew me away. Sharmila and Rajesh do have a certain chemistry and they are so at ease with each other that nothing feels out of character. Granted, the poems tend to get heavy ( specially the last one with sun and earth) but Rajesh's melodious voice keeps haunting you. Absolutely loved the movie. The background music adds to the story. The end is so touching and so real almost made me cry. Would recommend to almost everyone over 18, not a story to be understood unless you have been in love and in a relationship!
