Les Misérables (2012)
The best movie I've ever seen so far!
I literally have no words to express the excellence of the film. It's such a remarkable adaptation of the musical, not to mention even better than the play itself!
First of all, I think this film is a proof that actors can still perform their roles and sing too, like the old good ones could back in the old times. I never expected Jackman and Crowe to sing as well as they can act, it was something entirely surprising that needs to be applauded (and of course rewarded with a handful of awards!) Not to mention Anne Hathaway, who left me crying for 10 minutes or so, like a baby, while singing "I Dreamed A Dream". The whole scene with Fantine singing and crying deserves an Oscar and much more than that. Samantha Barks as Eponine...no words. She's absolute perfection. (Yes, the part of "On My Own" gave me so many feelings and admiration for Sam.) I also have to give a big bravo and congratulations to the little boy, Daniel Huttlestone, who played Gavroche, my favorite character. (His screen time should be longer actually.) He did more than an excellent job, both to the singing moments and acting, and brought to life the street urchin I always loved from the book. That was exactly how I imagined Gavroche's character to be honest.(According to some sources, this is his first role in a movie and that should be noted. I hope he gets lots of awards for his performance.) In his death scene, he left me speechless (and sobbing) too. Generally, all the actors were plain perfect at everything!
Also, the songs, the costumes and the set were just...amazing, perfect and awesome! The set made me believe I was actually in 19th century's Paris. The barricades and the actors waving the liberty flags of the French astounded me, because it was like seeing these old paintings coming to life, the ones with scenes from the French Revolution, and that was really great.
All in all, I gave it a 10/10 because it was entirely amazing and beautiful. Like I said, no words can express the perfection of this film. I didn't expect to see such a beautiful film at times like these. It is worth watching and I definitely recommend it to everyone.
Hugo (2011)
Of the bests movie I ever saw and maybe the best movie of 2011-2012.
I watched it yesterday.I must confess that I wanted to watch it especially for Asa Butterfield and because I have read the book, which both are amazing!I didn't expect it to be 'loyal' to the book but I was COMPLETELY wrong. It was loyal and it had more than the book (ex. the crush that Inspector had on Lisette, the flower seller.)
I have no words to explain how magical, beautiful and amazing it was.Asa Butterfield made a PERFECT Hugo,Chloe Moretz a perfect Isabelle and Ben Kingsley a perfect Georges Melies!
I highly recommend it to everyone!I give it a 10/10!I'm perfectly sure that no one will regret it!
Arthur et les Minimoys (2006)
Adventurous,magical and fantastic!
It was a long time since I watched this movie in the theaters.Almost 4 years ago.It was one of the best movie choices I ever did.
First of all,I have to say that this is a movie that everyone will enjoy. It's adventurous and fantastic, the worlds underneath a garden(and in a garden!)are magical and no one would ever imagine there could be such creatures in such a simple place!I think that this gives a hope to younger children that they could have Minimoys in their garden, like I did years ago. It's fantastic, the fights and the adventures that Arthur passes with his two fellows,Selenia and her brother Betameche!A magic journey, that you'd wish you could experience too!
I suggest it with no worries,it's one of the best animated movies and it's the first movie of the sequel Arthur and The Minimoys! You better watch the next two ones afterwards to live a long, magic adventure!I did so and I definitely didn't regret it!(Also,I would like to advise you to ignore the details and the goofs, because it doesn't worth to aware of them, they are really unimportant to the plot of the movie and unfortunately a lot of people did here.)
Ten stars out of 10 and it deserves it,because in case you didn't know,in 1999 Luc Besson and Patrice Garcia started to work on it and everything(the whole sequel)ended in 2010!
Arthur and the Minimoys is a great movie!Watch it with your children, friends or on your own,but one thing is sure;you'll enjoy the adventure! :)
All Grown Up! (2003)
A nice spin-off of Rugrats!
I learned about these series quite recently.I was a Rugrats fan from a younger age and when I discovered there was a spin-off of the characters,I was really excited to watch it.
Firstly,I watched the TV movie/episode of Rugrats "All Growed Up".It was a nice episode.Angelica was chasing the babies for taking her karaoke machine and finally they got in a closet, trying to hold the door from opening by Angelica. Then (I don't understand how exactly) the babies decided to go to the future and they did it by putting some kind of headphones to a ball.(?)Everyone is still the same thing only a bit different to their way of treating (one good example is that Chuckie is not afraid that much anymore). Then after a few incidents (and a nice and emotional video slide show of their baby years and adventures),they get back to the present knowing how they will look at the future and how will Angelica treat them then.(Oh,yes,Angelica WILL treat them a bit well!)
This episode was really interesting and maybe one of my favorites, though I've read and heard that many Rugrats fans didn't like it,because it destroyed their imagination of how the babies will be in the future, the same they believe for the series Rugrats:All Grown Up!,that it destroyed the original one.
Then I watched some episodes from the series and I was quite satisfied by them. They were nice, funny and at the end (as in the Rugrats) there was always a life lesson, through the preteens' life and adventures.I find it very enjoyable and it's certainly is a good show for children and preteens and -who knows?-teens and adults will love it too!
9 stars out of 10 is the best I can put,it wasn't the most excellent ever, but it is surely a nice and hard-worked series!
