Batwoman (2019–2022)
8/10
A guilty pleasure, but still above average for CW
3 November 2021
I admit, as a gay woman, this is one of my guilty pleasures, so I naturally give it a higher rating than most. Regardless of that aspect of the show, I do genuinely think this is one of the better CW shows in terms of character development and for the fact that it's a lot more grounded and well-choreographed. That will most likely change with future seasons. After all, The Flash and Supergirl had good or even great first seasons and then went downhill from there; and I expect the same from this show (as well as Stargirl and Superman and Lois) as the budgets and passions for the projects drop off.

If you're wondering about the 2nd season and beyond, I think the way they dealt with Ruby Rose's departure from the show was really good. In fact, it might've made it better, as Javicia Leslie seems to have a lot of passion for the character.

Eternals (2021)
6/10
It tried doing too much.
3 November 2021
It was alright. 6.5/10 for me. It had some great humor and action scenes. But it was plagued with lots of boring exposition.

More importantly, the emotional moments lacked impact for me since I barely knew most of the characters and their motivations. Civil War, Infinity War and Endgame were great because they had standalone movies leading up to them. This movie tried to introduce a plethora of new characters and lore while also having an epic conclusion. It tried doing too much.

The best parts of this movie are the more down-to-earth scenes where we can relate to the eternals and the parts where their ideologies conflict. The visuals are also gorgeous, as is to be expected with Marvel. It's pretty to look at, and it will occasionally make you laugh, but most of the substance is forgettable.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch (2021–2024)

Went in with low expectations; came out pleasantly surprised

I didn't care much for Clone Force 99 in Season 7 of Clone Wars so I wasn't excited for this show. To my surprise, it was a fantastic first episode that instantly hooked me. Starting the series off during Order 66 from the clone perspective was a great move by Filoni, and the characters were quickly made likeable. Can't wait to see where this goes!

Not terrible. Not legendary.
19 December 2019
You should probably disregard any review that gives this a 1/10 or a 10/10. It is not a terrible movie, nor is it legendary. For the average movie-goer I suspect it will fall somewhere between 6/10-8/10. Highly enjoyable in terms of visuals and plot twists, but not enough to stick around with you for years to come like the original trilogy.

Pure propaganda, agenda based pseudoscience.
7 March 2014
Produced by the AIDS denying conspiracy theorist Gary Null. Just hearing that should spark some skepticism towards this movie.

There are so many factually incorrect statements in this documentary it's impossible to go through them all. A clear case of Gish Gallop, the technique of drowning an opponent in so many lies and logical fallacies that it's going to take a whole book just to refute them.

I recommend everyone to remain skeptical and check almost every statement in this movie.

There is no reason to oppose GMO's based on the supposed health issues because there are none as any complete review of the scientific literature demonstrates

In fact most researchers against GMO's have routinely had an agenda and misrepresented their studies for selfish gains.

And when it comes to Monsanto they're no worse than your average corporation and they have just become the icon of corporate evil. Yet most of the claims about them are just outright false.

As for environmental concerns, it varies greatly between climates and in some cases GM crops are better for environment. It really depends on a number of factors.

The largest problem however is monoculture in general and not GM crops. Although GM crops do pose solutions for this and Monsanto did as well, but... (watch the video above)

"It's all just big agro conspiracy mongering that's just part of an anti-GMO ideological agenda." /Dr. Steven Novella, On Monsanto Myths
