Prehistoric Planet (2022)
Brilliant as ever
I loved the first episode!
It has the same high quality information and commentary we have come to expect from Sir. David Attenborough now combined with stunning visuals in 4K Dolby Vision quality. The dinosaurs look beautiful as they are but what steals the show for me is the extremely realistic animations. A perfect time for the release as well considering the new Jurassic World movie is coming out soon. Overall, 10/10 from me.
Stranger Things (2016)
Homage to the 80s
What seemed like a mere 80s throwback from the looks of it, Stranger Things is much more like a homage to that period.
Drilled down to its bare, this is a story about a mother's search for her lost child and the finesse with which its crafted among elements of mystery and sci-fi makes it highly intriguing. The cast does justice to their roles especially the protagonists who have given a truly believable performance. The background score is chosen to perfection and amplifies the retro feel of the show. Stranger things wont be breaking your scare meter but it will take control over you and keep you engaged till the very end.
The Walking Dead: The Grove (2014)
Unrealistic but Shocking
Everything went on like the rest of the season-talking and more talking(read character development), a few zombies dying until I saw a still Lizzie with her bloody hand holding a knife. That was a WTF moment which was both shocking and unrealistic at the same time. One does not simply kill your own sister just to show that they will come back. Mika was as smart as Liz was stupid. Alas they both couldn't make it.
But my point is, the plot doesn't move at all. I guess we can just watch the season finale and find everyone who survived at the terminus with a few characters in and out.
I'd rate it a 5/10 for the first half hour and the last 5 mins where Carol reveals the truth to Tyreese which was intense.
Breaking Bad (2008)
Breaking Bad is the bomb!!
Breaking Bad is breaking whatever limit there is for breaking the limits on television! And that, it is certainly the best when it comes to being the most bad-ass show there was/is/will be on television! I am a bit late to review this title but I started watching it just about last month and it is so addictive that it has had me hooked onto it until I craved for more... Breaking Bad is a journey of a certain Walter White, an underachieving man, a man way too qualified for the job he does, the wages he earns, a man barely able to provide for his family which he loves more than himself is left with no option when he understands that he has cancer and little time on his hands; to choose the path that seems impossible for him- a timid, meek guy....a path were red is shed for green...lives are put at risk on a daily basis. He takes on the role of a manufacturer of crystal meth along with Jesse Pinkman a former student of his, who is a small time drug dealer! And he chose to break bad!! I'd rate it 10/10 A Must Watch for anyone who has eyes!! In Jesse's words: IT IS THE BOMB, BIATCH!!
