Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar (2024)
Banshali Class!!!
Everything about the movie was truly amazing. The plot was intricately crafted, the story was compelling, the costumes were stunning, and the dialogue was sharp and engaging. Every little detail was meticulously attended to, making for an incredibly enjoyable experience. It was undoubtedly one of the best movies I have seen in a long time, and I enjoyed it immensely. However, I would rate it a 9 out of 10, primarily because the casting choice for the lead role felt compromised. Nepotism seemed to be at play, and this was evident in the performance of the lead actor, Alemjeb. Throughout the film, I kept wondering why such a lackluster actor was chosen for such a pivotal role. Later, I discovered that Alemjeb was played by Banshali's niece, which explained the casting decision. I couldn't help but think that Aditi Rao Hydari would have been a far superior choice for the role, bringing more depth and nuance to the character. Of course, I'm neither the director nor the producer, so these casting decisions are beyond my control. Despite this, I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of the movie and would highly recommend it to others. The film's brilliance in all other aspects more than made up for this one flaw.

Very Captivating struggle of a officer
"Sergeant" is a gripping and inspiring film that follows the dedicated and morally upright police officer Nikhil Sharma. He bravely takes on a challenging case that not only leaves him physically injured but also has significant implications for his career. The movie skillfully combines suspense, action, and drama to create a thrilling experience. Sharma's unwavering dedication to justice and his moral compass make him a captivating protagonist. The film explores his emotional and physical challenges, showcasing the sacrifices required to uphold his principles. The supporting cast delivers solid performances, enhancing the richness of the story. Visually, the movie impresses with its cinematography and well-choreographed action sequences. While the plot occasionally follows familiar tropes, the emphasis on Sharma's character development keeps the story engaging. "Sergeant" is a gripping and inspiring film that blends suspense, action, and drama while exploring integrity and courage in the pursuit of justice.
Main Aur Charles (2015)
Superb Job - Loved Hoodda and admired Prawaal
After long time, I thoroughly enjoyed a Hindi movie.. Each plot was very intriguing with many of the subtleties left for brain to interpret. Movie is true drama style and slowly building plot by plot for for a thrilling and chilling end. On the side, I admired this mysterious personality of Charles (Hoodda) .. where Hoodda played close to perfection... Actress Chaddha also came out to be as sultry as she is. Goa scenes were truly captured in its true essences, reminded my 20 yrs back time. Director and his cinematography was superb. I would want other Indian movie makers to take clues from here to make more meaningful movie where you don't have to leave your brain at Home. To director, I want to see more of Charles in its sequel.. Mr. Prawaal.. Please do the favor for all of us...
404: Error Not Found (2011)
Truly psyched my mind with twists and turns
Must say before you read this review, I prefer thrills of minds rather mare eye candy pleasures. I really liked 404 for its build up, twists and turns between person's psychology, academic experiment, ragging setup, bi-polar disorder, haunted room and ghost existence. 404 movie is brilliantly knit together with these different concepts with great timing and sequences. I also liked the shade of movie print and backdrop of college. Though, Rajvir acting was superb but Imad Shah's mischievous look and dimple took major limelight.
English movies like Beautiful Mind, which falls in line, but in Indian context, this is one of few movies where director has taken courage to EXPERIMENT with such deep psychological concepts without casting biggies like Amitab, SRK or Ashwarya. Must watch movie!!!
