Black Mirror: Demon 79 (2023)
Boring.
Last season of Black Mirror was pretty bad. And their slight departure from techno sci-fi was a let down. But this episode doesn't fit into the genre that this franchise was built on at all. Honestly, I'd skip it if you're looking for an interesting sci-fi story. Or just an interesting story about anything. Because it's really poorly written, acted and directed. As well as the fact it isn't SCI-FI. Netflix must be running out of good writers or too cheap to license stories from better story tellers that already have established books. The ruum would be an extremely interesting story to see brought to screen with the technology we have today.
House of the Dragon (2022)
It's so bad.
It's really just stupid, in a lot of ways. Give it a watch and decide for yourself. But if you thought the last episode of GOT was bad, hang on to your shorts. We already know how it's going to end. So unless there is something special that happens that could change the outcome of GOT its inherently predictable. Maybe they'll expose that someone is of a different bloodline than we thought and establishes a new claim to the thrown that inspires a sequel to GOT. But I doubt it. That would be interesting and so far this show isn't interested in being interesting. Also, none of the characters are likable.
The Green Knight (2021)
Boring
That's all there is to say, it's just boring. I usually don't mind slow movies when they're interesting, tense or engaging but this movie falls short. A rare miss by A24.
The Orville (2017)
It keeps getting worse.
I remember when this show was a comedy. Instead it has become a show that accidentally makes points it's not meaning to. This episode wants to be pro transition before you're an adult at the same time it's pointing out how it's bad to transition before you're an adult.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
Worse the second time.
This movie has ended my Marvel theatre run. I haven't missed a single one in the theater, even before MCU. But I can't anymore. This movie is ridiculous. Disney isn't concerned with making good movies anymore. The best scene is the one with Bruce Campbell.
Dexter: New Blood (2021)
8.2?
I'm confused how this show is getting an 8.2. It's clearly not very good and scrolling through the reviews most I see are giving it 4 and below. It's honestly a 6 but I get why fans would give it 4 or less. The finale comes off as a slap in the face. Not only is it poorly written and executed but you get the feeling they only resurrected the series to fix what many consider a failure of the original finale. I prefer the background setting of Miami but it's not too bad overall. Other than the The Chief the new characters are boring and not well acted IMO. The worst part is writing and directing. There's one scene in particular with an infrared image that looks like a blob and somehow dexter can tell the exact make and model of the rifle in the image. But it could have been a shotgun or a broom handle. Utterly ridiculous. If you're a fan of the original series I suggest you watch it but keep your expectations low. It was great to see Dex and Deb together again and there are some fun cameos.
Death Note (2017)
Forget the bad reviews.
This movie is not being judged on its own merit. If you read the other reviews you'll see it's just a bunch of butthurt fanboys that are mad that it's not that same as their manga or anime material. I've seen the anime and Japanese live action versions and they're good. But so is this one. If you're a original material fanboy don't watch it. If you're just someone that enjoys good movies, check it out. It's dark mysterious and fun. And if you like it check out the other versions and source material, they're all good too.
The Tomorrow War (2021)
Not good.
The movie would have been better if at the end they went back in time and stopped the movie from being made.
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: Chapter Thirty-Two: The Imp of the Perverse (2020)
We get it.
We get it, white men are evil. Normally this type of propaganda is tolerable when wrapped in an interesting metaphor, not when it's being force fed to you.
Better Off Ted (2009)
Great show
This show was brilliant. Too bad it didn't get to continue.
Altered Carbon (2018)
Second season sucks
The first season is great! I'd give it a 9. But the second season is horrible. Mackie is good even though I thought he would be a weak link. But, with a few exceptions, the rest of the cast is not good. I wish IMDB would let you rank seasons as a whole. As it stands I have to give the entire series a 5 because the second brings the average down so far. I almost quit watching.
Another Life (2019)
Really bad.
I was pretty excited for this but it's not good at all. The writing is horrible and unrealistic.
American Gods (2017)
I had to change my review after season two.
Season one was amazing despite the politics. The visuals, acting and story more than covered for it. Season two on the other hand was completely boring and seemed more like Marxist propaganda than anything remotely interested in telling a good story.
