Dirigenten (2018)
Amazing, exciting, thrilling!
This series has surprising turns all the time, exactly how a good tv-series should be. Highly recommended.
When Calls the Heart (2014)
Weird title
I both like and dislike this show. Its sometimes interesting, but sometimes also very predictable and boring. I understand its more like a family show than anything else, but nothing dramatic really ever happens. The strangest thing however is the title. To me it sounds like a person named "When" is making a phone call to his or her heart...
The Matrix (1999)
Ridiculous plot...
This is the biggest crap movie I've ever tortured myself through. How on earth did it reach the Top250 list? Is it because people feel committed and therefore "must" love it? I can't see no other reason at all. It gave me absolutely nothing. OK, the special effects are maybe good, but what's the use of it when the story is as far beyond realism as you possibly can get? People that liked this movie have said that this could be the reality in 100-200 years from now on, and even earlier. Excuse me, but how stupid can you get? Nothing of it will even be reality in a billion years. It is impossible to "fuck up" brains like that. It will never happen that a human being that knows absolutely nothing about how to control a helicopter, can have all the knowledge and experience thats needed transferred to its brain in just hundreds of a second. People, please, get a life, get realistic...
Waterloo Bridge (1940)
Excellent acting, excellent movie...
I'm a huge fan of Vivien Leigh, mainly because of her extreme beauty, but also because she was an excellent actress (may she rest in peace). In this movie she showed that she was much more than the selfish Scarlett O'Hara and as far as I'm concerned, she did a much better job here than in GWTW. If both these movies had been made today, her performance in GWTW would not have been considered at all by the academy, but I think 100% of them would have voted for her performance in Waterloo Bridge. The story is amazing, a little dated of course, but as the movie progresses, I was stunned by the performances of Leigh, Robert Taylor, C. Aubrey Smith, Virginia Field and last but not least, Maria Ouspenskaya. What a lady and what a performance! Check out the scene after Myra has received the message from Roy where "madame" takes control of the situation. Especially the line "...nor troop movements" is great. One thing that makes the movie much better than expected during the film is the end which is NOT a happy ending. Vivien Leigh's character actually dies. The remake "Gaby" (1956) starring Leslie Caron, also has some great moments, but I was very disappointed to see that she didn't die in the end. As if "The Green Mile" would have been such a great movie if John Coffey had been pardoned... I rate Waterloo Bridge a 10 out of 10 as it is one of my all time favourites...
Crossroads (2002)
Not as bad as people claim...
I think the main reason that people don't like this movie is the fact that Britney Spears is in it. But honestly, that is a very stupid reason for not liking a movie. My expectations were not "up there" when I started watching it, but as the film progressed, I actually enjoyed myself. I was also surprised by the fact that Britney Spears' performance was that good. She IS a better singer than an actress, but I've seen many performances of so-called good actors and actresses that was far worse than Britney's. The story is not the best on earth, but the audience it was meant for, love such stories (i.e. teenagers). I actually think the movie has some touching moments, and to you who voted 1 for this one; I think very many of you actually should see the movie before you rate it so badly. It is unrealistic that almost 50% of the viewers have given it a 1. A great deal of them have NEVER seen the movie and rate it 1 just because they hate Britney. That is not fair... I give it a 6 out of 10.
Fjols til fjells (1957)
Priceless classic Norwegian Comedy.
I think this film is one of the better classic Norwegian comedy's. It shows "The King of Norwegian Comedy's", Leif Juster, the way we loved to see him. The tall, skinny man with the funny voice does one of his best characters in this film. The setting is a hotel up in the mountain where many situations makes the days for the chief of the hotel (Juster) just as frustrated as can be. The piccolo is a girl, but is "disguised" as a boy and this also complicates some situations. I rate it 7/10.
