Hide and Seek (2005)
I just really wanna say...
Hide and seek?
More like Hyde and Seek
Lol
It won't let me just say that so,
This was a good thriller. Well acted. A bit predictable, but it was a good pay off to see how DeNiro was going to become Charlie.
The twist of him never even writing in the book was cool. I wasn't expecting that.
The Nun (2018)
Disappointing
We were so excited to see this, as we are fans of the conjuring universe. It definitely didn't have the feel of a conjuring movie, likely because Wan wasn't directing.
The film felt like a rush capitilizaton on everyone's favorite Conjuring villain. Jump scares that became obnoxious and nothing too surprising happened.
The priest who is supposed to be some badass they call in for these special cases was a little baby who fell for all of the demon's tricks and literally didn't help anything!
The foreshadowing was overtly obvious which felt so much like a plug it took me out of the immersion of the film. Oh yeah all you could think of was Mary points the way, and you didn't think to look at Mary statues in a Catholic Convent? Yeah, okay.
Last, and probably most irritating... WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU CHOOSE THE SISTER OF THE MAIN CHARACTER FROM THE CONJURING AND NOT MAKE THEM RELATED??!! Like seriously they could have picked ANY other actress but they chose Lorraine's (Vera's) nearly identical younger sister to play a totally separate character in the same universe? Dumb af.
Little Witches (1996)
Pretty Awful
I mean, was this a student film?
So, I was looking for a fun witchy flick to watch on my day off. What I got was a train wreck masked as a movie.
I don't know much about the production of this, but I really hope that there is an excuse for how terrible it was. Low budget? I saw that they only had 2 weeks to film, so maybe that had something to do with it.
The lighting was low and sporadic. The sound was about the same, with poor choice in music. It was both unintriguing, distracting, and predictable.
The acting was as bad as a high school play... maybe worse, depends on the high school. The acting was HORRIBLE. I didn't believed any of the performances. It was almost like they picked people off the street with no skill or experience and threw them into this film on a whim.
Even the plot of this was boring and I found myself looking for other things to entertain my time while this movie was playing in the background.
Guys will love this though. There's plenty of naked girls to go around.

Unrealistic attempt at lesbian love
Okay, it's sweet it really is, them trying to make a cute little flick about two girls falling in love. But, here's the thing, just because we're lesbians doesn't mean we fall in love after a few brief conversations and a little sexually frustrated fueled sexy times.
First of all what kind of person is expected to fall in love with a love story about intentionally breaking hearts for the sake of one selfish relationship. Frida pursued Mia pretty aggressively after that first kiss, knowing damn well she had a nice, loving fiancé. And then! And then we find out she had her out doting girlfriend all along! What? Was that supposed to be a little plot twist? Because that just made me disrespect her even more. On top of all the cheating going on for a little lustfilled night with a stranger who was soon to be a step-sister, we come to find out they've both been negatively affected by cheating. Which makes me think that their whole attitude towards their tryst is completely out of character.
Then frida goes a little coo coo kachoo arguing with Mia about being in love with the man she is supposed to marry all because they had one semi-romantic weekend?
That's not someone I want representing me and my lesbianess in the media.
And can I just say, Mia didn't even cut her nails for Frida. That's not love, my friends.
The acting was sub-par and the plot was really just a subtle twist on a story that's been retold a hundred times. (How many lesbian movies do I have to watch where the girl with the boyfriend/fiancé/husband falls in love with a cute, Care-free girl, but doesn't want to accept it?)
It's tired and played out.
I didn't even want to watch the rest because their entire relationship thereafter is based off of a start I think it absurd....sexy or not.
Honestly, I thought the parents' subplot was more interesting and real than Mia and Frida's. Their relationship and arguments seemed much more legitimate.
