The R.M. (2003)
1/10
From a non-mormon standpoint.
10 July 2004
If you're not a mormon, you probably don't tolerate much other religions. Personally, I'm not a Mormon. But, I like to look into other religions. First, let me say I am fascinated by the LDS. I love to read the BoM.

Now for the review. ;)

First and Foremost, this movie is so much better then The Singles Ward. Better acting, better idea, and lots funnier. Some scenes made me nearly pee my pants.

While the acting is better, that still isn't saying much. It's decent, but not perfect. And the direction and photography is good.

Alien (1979)
Terrific, not terrifying
7 June 2004
I'll keep this review simple.

The movie is a great classic movie. It never seems to date. Ridley Scott knew where film making was heading, and he gave horror movie fans from 1979 a glimpse of what the future would be like. Dazzling sets, tremendous acting, and an awe-inspiring antagonist make this movie memorable.

But.

Ridley Scott says the alien did not need to be seen. I highly disagree. The alien terrifies us, therefore we need to know what the protagonist is up against. The alien was obviously a man in a rubber suit. Aliens took the special FX to another level, but still kept the action physical. The effects in the next movie are far superior than this.

In a nutshell: Rent the next one.

If I die of boredom, do I still get the free coffin?
24 July 2003
At the beginning of this awful movie, it promises a coffin "reserved for you" if you die of fright. But what if I were to die of boredom?

This movie is so awful I couldn't believe it! I rented it a while back.

It has a thin storyline full of bad actors and crew, and it's full of stereotypes!

The Bottom Line- Don't waste a cent of your dime of minute of your time on this film!

Finding Nemo (2003)
Great Adventure- Unfunny
22 July 2003
I saw Finding Nemo today- I've been meaning to see it. I expected a great comedy. I was disappointed.

In case you've been living under a rock (or don't have TV) you've probably seen commercials for this. You also probably know that Marlin, a clownfish, has lost his son. With the help of Dory, he is determined to find Nemo, his son.

It has lots of colorful characters that I enjoyed watching. Each of the tank fish are equally unique. My favorite is Peach, probably.

The settings are very creative. The EAC is hilarious and imaginative, as well as the Jellyfish Forest.

The only problem I had is that is it's only mildly funny. It's awfully sad.

The Bottom Line: A wildly creative, mildly funny adventure! Two out of Four Chili Peppers!

Steel (1997)
Not as bad as people say!!!
22 July 2003
I rented this film at Hollywood Video. I expected humongo crap. I was wrong.

While Shaq isn't the greatest actor (or basketball player- go spurs go!) the rest of the cast us pretty good. I enjoyed the antagonistic Nathaniel and the impress Henry family.

Yes, the music is not the best, but it's not awful.

The Bottom Line: An enjoyable action movie experience! 6/10 Chili Peppers!!!
