Love Sorry (2022)
9/10
Laughed a lot
6 December 2022
I really loved it! The movie follows the traditional recipe of romcoms: characters who look for love, meet roadblocks and search for ways to overcome them. Well-defined characters, real-life language, it was a nice touch they shot it in Iasi City.

The jealous character was annoyingly funny and well-played. Doina Teodoru's character didn't do anything for me, I didn't buy her. The scenes with the betrayed girlfriend were so great! I loved how angry she was and how she expressed it. The fortune teller scenes were incredible! I laughed so hard, such a great actress and so far away from the traditional portrayal of witches. Anisia Gafton's part was just enough. It gave a lot of flavour to the club scenes, but if she were to talk for more minutes, she would have spoiled the fun for me.

There was just the right amount of twists and turns to make it enjoyable all the way through. Mihail's songs make for a good soundtrack. And the flamenco band was really good.

Will you love it? I don't know. But I hope it hits the right audience. Get your popcorn, you're in for a treat!

Spoiled brat I'd wanna do something bad to
25 July 2017
Warning: Spoilers
The series introduces us to the state attorney's family and spoiled daughter. Various stories intertwine: the family of an imprisoned man, a woman talking weird things about fate and omens, a man's flashbacks, all happening while the breaking news on TV keeps referring to some people being murdered in town.

After the killer strikes close to home, a twist of fate allows a Groundhog Day-type reset, and Laura relives the week prior to the string of murders.

Not spectacular, but pretty decent acting, nice movie sets and some OK directing and editing. Good enough to watch while waiting for your favorite show to come back.

Lyfe's Journey (2014 TV Movie)
7/10
The tough economy's got victims
14 March 2015
Warning: Spoilers
The film centers around David Lyfe (Robinson), a successful bank manager, devoted husband and father of a little girl — with another on the way — whose life crashes in on itself in a tough economy. In a rapid downward spiral, he becomes homeless after being laid off in a merger and making a bad decision with a lonely woman in a hotel bar. But with the help and support of a few caring people, David finds forgiveness and the true meaning of life.

Jones plays Pastor Taylor, who with his 20-something daughter Sam (Judi Blair) show Lyfe kindness and that reveal that everything in life has a purpose. David discovers his own purpose and realizes that his life — and forgiveness — is worth fighting for.

Comet (2014)
8/10
A painting does not have a beginning, a middle and an end
14 December 2014
That's what "Comet" is about and that's how it feels.

It's about man and a woman shown in different stages of their 6- year-long relationship. The director's got the remote and he's switching through the "channels" of their lives: the couple after 2 years, the day they met, the couple after 1 year and so on. You just need to be able to yield the steering wheel and enjoy the scenery. And wow! What a beautiful scenery it is! This movie is about romantic mood, conversation and connecting. It's neither about events, nor chronological order. It's not about a traditional story or deep meaning, but rather about how it makes you connect the characters to your own love experiences and the fuzzy feelings you get.

As Justin Long's character says at one point: "you should see our relationship as a painting; it doesn't have a beginning, a middle and an end."

Time is not a character allowed to crash their lives'party.

În derivã (2010–2012)
7/10
Enticing dialog-based therapy sessions
1 January 2011
Warning: Spoilers
"În derivã" focuses on one of the characteristics of modern society, psychotherapy, seen through the eyes of an A-one therapist. The main actor Marcel Iures plays Andrei Poenaru, a professional and distant psychologist that faces his life's challenge - his love for a patient. This romance will threaten everything he holds dear: his family, his self respect, his reputation and nonetheless his job.

But who are Andrei Poenaru's family? Laura (48 years old) is Andrei's wife, a mature woman, mother of 3 (Vlad - 9, Alexandra - 17 and Petru - 22). She feels neglected and angry for Andrei has always put his patients' interest above her and their children. She simply wants to feel loved and makes some wrong decisions concerning her marriage. She agrees to go to couple therapy to Maria (actress Tamara Cretulescu), but this will present too many unpleasant surprises for her to handle.

There are also the deep, catchy stories of Andrei's patients.

There are 5 episodes a week. MONDAYS are dedicated to Nora, one of the patients. (Episodes no 1, 6, 11 and so on). TUESDAYS - Victor (ep 2, 7, ...). WEDNESDAYS - Diana (ep 3, 8, ...). THURSDAYS - Ruxandra + Tudor (ep 4, 9, ...). FRIDAYS are dedicated to the therapy sessions of Andrei with his own therapist, Maria. (ep 5, 10,...).

Definitely worth seeing if you're into mind games! You'll get totally bored though if you're an action-movies addict.
