Vuelve a españa!
16 July 2023
6/10 No no no no no. :/ I've been a fan of Almodóvar for 3 decades, I saw this movie last night and I'm still bored. Nothing against the performances (as usual Almodóvar's actors are great), great performance by Penélope Cruz, excellent soundtrack, competent direction.

The script starts well, it's familiar in all aspects, it hooks us and then... you don't understand what happens in the last 1/3 of the film.

So much potential to flow into a Hollywood melodrama, clearly wrapped up in a hurry and which distorts all the attention and dedication of the beholder.

Almodovár, what was that man? Come back to spain muchacho <3.

Satire all the way
11 March 2023
Road to the Oscars 2023 7/10

Ruben Östlund presents us with a satire on the utopian (im)possibility of equality of class, gender, beauty, age and power in a society.

It's a pleasant film that could perfectly have been 40 minutes shorter - too many "in your face" moments, especially in the second act - culminating in a loss of depth for the characters.

The three chapters of the story lead to an exciting and ambiguous ending. Even after a long running time, you can't help but want more once the screen switches to black.

The finale is left open to the audience's interpretation and with a big moral question not only for the characters but also for the audience.

Such a waste of potential
15 January 2023
What annoys me the most is that this movie could have been so good... an engaging story by the best-selling nordic writer Jo Nesbø, a breathtaking cinematography, an exceptional cast (Michael Fassbender, Rebecca Ferguson, JK Simmons, Chloe Sevigny and even Val Kilmer).

And yet the adaptation is so unsatisfactory. There are cuts and jumps that break the fluidity of the narrative, the plot ended up so stereotyped that in 15 minutes I already knew who the murderer was, and then there were so many loose ends... And that ending is just empty, empty, empty. What a waste of potential. This book deserved a much more coherente adaptation.

A copy with lack of charisma
5 April 2022
5/10 Lack of charisma from the characters, bad writting, a collage that is simultaneously excessive and inappropriate to HIMYM. It didn't convince me. Hopefully season 2 will be better.

Hallmark type gay movie
6 December 2021
It's a Hallmark type movie, with gay leads, that's it. Chewing gum film that one chewes and discard at the end, leaving no flavor whatsoever. The whole Netflix pitch is the gay thing. I'm a lesbian and it made nothing for me.

So bad it's hilarious
30 November 2021
It's hilarious! Do you know those types of movies so bad that they somehow become good because you laugh your a** off? This is that kind of movie. A Brazilian "Room". I laughed so much. Don't get me wrong, it's really horrible, but it's so horrible, it's good.

It is what it is...
15 November 2021
It is what it is. The pace could be better, it often drags itself. The characters deserved a clearer and more structured development, especially towards the end. Positive point: it was good to see Uma Thurman, that offers us the best performance of this series.

It's the worst thing I've seen all year

No, I'm not english. No, I don't have a thing for the Royal family or Meghan, I don't care either way, not here to defend them.

Having said that: Yes, this is offensive. Yes, it attacks real little children (I don't care if they royals or not) needlessly. Yes, it's a Stewies' Family Guy rip off, only awful.

Look, I like dark humor and satire as much as the next guy, but the problem is that this is neither. Even if you don't have a problem with the way they portray children, this isn't funny at all. I didn't laugh once. Don't waste your time.

I enjoyed this way too much!

I only saw it today, but this is so good. Best 3 minutes Chris Hemsworth ever gave someone. [oh, I guess we're not done burning him yet].

And to know this was for charity made it all so much better.

Fight Club is even more relevant today, in 2020

This movie is over 20 years old, and did it aged well!

Can't talk about FC, that's the rule, but if you haven't see it, go do it. Right now! You'll thank me later.
