Great Movie!!!
14 July 2004
I was up late one night and this was the only movie on so I decided to watch it. I'm so glad I did. It was very funny. I believe NWH is a parody of NWA (Ice Cube, Easy-E,& Dr. Dre). There are also parody appearances of Vanilla Ice and a couple of other 90's artist. NWH's videos even resemble videos of other 90's groups. There are references to the style and culture of the 90's in an all but too funny way. I would recommend even non-rap fans to watch this movie. Although this movie is low budget it definitely just adds to the comedy. The cast really pulls off a serious yet ridiculously funny performance.I had know idea what this movie was about, but after the first 5 min. I knew I was going to like it.Overall this is just a great flashback laugh.

Is it over yet?

This movie said it was based on a true story so I thought it might be interesting. From the start the movie was disappointing.Little information is built upon the characters leaving you not knowing enough about any of them for them to be very likable. Just when the movie seems to be going in the right direction it falls short. Situations develop but with little detail. There seemed to be too much information trying to be crammed into the movie. It was like one scene he asked for the autopsy report and ,cut, next scene he gets the report in the mail.Toward the end of the movie I just kept wondering when is the movie going to be over. Then the ending is there and you don't even know it because the whole movie just drags on. It ends so abruptly that you still have questions, but really you could care less if they are answered.A total waste of time and money.

Fortress (1985)
A movie that will haunt you

I saw this movie on HBO as an adolescent. I watched it a couple of times, but I never knew what it was called. Through out the years the scenes in this movie really stuck with me.I wanted to watch this movie again! Periodically every year or so I would ask someone if they have ever seen the movie, telling them the scenes I remembered, plot line, and that I thought it could be a foreign film. I even checked with all the video stores with no luck. For about 9 years no one I asked had ever heard of this movie. Then one day I was telling a couple of new friends about this really great nameless movie and one of the girls says oh yeah I seen that movie. And I thought she was joking or lying. And then she started to tell me more details about the movie and I knew it was a match. She said it was called the FORTRESS. I checked every rental place with no luck and all of stores. I finally found it on-line. I am so happy now. This is a great film that you won't forget.

Great Movie!!!
7 July 2004
With the recent publicity of The 2004 Stepford Wives it prompted me to rent the original 1975 release, which I have never seen. I liked the 70's style perception and filming technique. I am a great mystery and suspense film fan and this movie really hit the spot. It was even better than I expected. The cast, especially Katherine Ross, gave their characters life with genuine emotion. Even the ending of this film was satisfying. After hearing the new release is more of a dark comedy and doesn't follow the original plot line it made me want to scream "NOT ANOTHER LOUSY TWISTED REMAKE OF A FANTASTICALLY GREAT ORIGINAL". Why do people do this? And it has Comedy? That definitely destroys the purpose of the original, which is a suspense thriller.Comedy would really kill the mood.Yes, remakes can be better than originals, but in this case I don't know how the "remake" can even compare.
