Inside Job (2021)
Hilarious and Unique!
This is the best adult animation I've ever seen in a TV series! It's similar to, yet even funnier and more complex than, the Simpsons or Futurama. It's refreshing to see a brilliant woman star in a leadership role, in this silly universe where conspiracy theories are real! It's so fun and satisfying watching Regan and other adorable characters battle the ridiculous inanity of the modern world. I'm laughing on almost every line in some of these episodes! And the story really progresses, I love watching the characters grow! Ends on quite an emotional cliffhanger, so very unfair if it's all over. Personally, I feel joyously fulfilled watching this show, so haters can just move along! I along with thousands of fans are crossing our fingers that this show will go on!!!
Burn After Reading (2008)
Burn Before Watching!!!
With this all-star cast, I expected so much more.
Then throughout the film, was mystified as to why they would consent to be involved in such a snoozefest. Not a single character or plot point captured my interest, or my friend's. Most appallingly bad, unbelievably pointless movie we have ever seen.
John Malkovich?? Tilda Swinton??? These are usually smart actors and I feel betrayed by them.
Only from shock did we stay to the end, thinking surely something would render this film worth making. Nope.
My advice is, DO NOT WATCH. Not even to verify, how bad could it possibly be.
His Dark Materials (2019)
His Severed Materials
So dull and disappointing. Where is the wonder? the joy? the supernatural? and worst of all where is the silver-tongued Lyra?? This show is all thriller and no suspense... it gives everything away far too early with its continual ponderous tone of shallow foreboding. Has almost nothing to do with the feel of the original. The movie was far better, but read the books first.
By rearranging plot elements, minimizing animal appearances, using boring music and watering down the motivations, this series cuts off the daemon of the books. I don't know how Pullman can stand his soulless materials.
