Into the Dark: Down (2019)
It happens!!
This isn't your typical ghost story, slasher & gore story. I can't tell you what it's about I'm a great believer in not giving spoilers away but we have all been stuck in a elevator before or at least I have, not with a hunk that's she's stuck with though but not is all that it seems and even though most of it is shot in a elevator doesn't mean that it's boring. It's far from it which means you have great actors and crews bringing you an amazing story. I only just remembered about this after I started to watch the show again. The magic of the show is you don't need to know what happened last week. It's an anthology. Except pooka I believe you would have to have watched the first one to watch the 2nd instalment on season 2. I think maybe that episode was the one where people tuned out but hey it must have had a cult following for them to continue the story. Then again horror does tend to have a cult following on its own. Anyway Down is one of the best episodes I've watched in Season 1.
Into the Dark: My Valentine (2020)
Songs Get Stuck In Your Head - dance with you on the knife lol
The bad reviews are just that, as I've said before people normally review when they don't like something or if they think something is awesome there has never been a in between only time I've seen this is when a viewer is being true to themselves and just want to make reviews more helpful.
It's a great storyline and not only does a lot of girls go through what the main leading lady goes through in relationships but I can bet a few of the most popular singers we know have stolen their artistic expression from someone else, I don't want to add spoilers but if you look past the story you'll see the deeper meaning and it's very well written and in with the times. I gave it a 7 as there has been better into the dark episodes but it's very watchable. I only write reviews for a film but I think these episodes need a review on their own since it is like a film. The show is basically an anthology of films and I hope there is a season 3.
Ps the leading guy did a awesome Job as well. He was very good at playing both sweet and a nut job so well.
Into the Dark: The Body (2018)
Love it
It's Halloween and it's not what you'd be expecting, except he can get away with a lot of things considering it is Halloween. It's hard to make a review about something without giving a spoiler. However I have a major crush. I think it's the whole American psycho look he has going on. It's really worth a watch. I don't usually rate episodes in general but after I did the shows review I decided to see if I could review Individual ones and I was right. Honestly you won't be sorry you missed this. Not all episodes in the show are for everyone which is why it makes it a good show. There is no following every week to know what happens and the show wraps everything to for you in a neat little bow after every episode (well film) great for a Hulu series.
Into the Dark (2018)
Love Anthologies
I don't know if you can give episodes their separate rating but with this you really should be able to. It's like every episode is a little movie. I'd have rated a 10 but not all stories are for everyone my best episodes so far is blood moon, tentacles (not as daft as it sounds and keeps you on your seat & the one I've watched uncanny Annie. I'm sure there will be others. Once my review is up I will try and edit it I can. Edit: The Body Down & Be my Valentine is also great episodes. Before I wrote this review I decided that since each episode or even movie is different then they all deserve separate reviews which hopefully I will get round to doing them all. However if you liked this review check out my reviews for the ones I have put on the edit. I'm new to reviews I'm hoping my reviews get better without adding spoilers. I will learn & what best way to practise on a show I don't think is coming back. If I reviewed every episode I watched I'd never stop reviewing. However anthology series do need to be reviewed separately in my opinion. Right that's all folks and stay safe out there! :-)
Army of the Dead (2021)
Oceans 11 Meets The Apocalypse
The reviews alone was going to put me off this movie. I'm glad I didn't listen. I'm halfway through it and this girl is a huge horror buff.
Zombies have been done over and over again but the way the coyote explains about the zombies this ain't your typical zombie film and that's why the big rating.
Horror can be done bad & lately it's a hit or a miss with the things I put on but the acting, music, and the way it's shot to me this is a hit. It also has some pretty funny lines in it.
No it's not your everyday make you think movie but it's great for switching off it's also good if you like horror but like action and big badass weapons to so men will generally like it for that.
PS due to one review I'm keeping a eye out for Geeta that review made me smile. Pity you can't edit reviews on here.
Slaxx (2020)
It's going to be a cult classic
I was expecting pure rubbish but you know when something seems so ridiculous that it ends up being good. Well this is one of them. I thought the acting, camerawork etc was going to be shady this is not the case. If this was the 80s early 90s it would be a cult classic and I hope in 10yrs or so it is. It also has hidden agendas behind it rather than just what the story is about, it's got motive. Honestly give it a go. There's gore, pretentious people and "influencers" the annoying ones that you want to murder yourself lmao. I'm sure this won't be the first shop to say they are doing their bit for the planet when all they want is moolah. I was very surprised at this film & I think you will be to. Think of a modern idol hands but it's clothing. That's all I can say without giving the game away. True horror fans will get this.
Bring Me a Dream (2020)
Hmm on the fence.
The acting isn't so bad the story isn't even so bad. It's everything to do with the audio it's like they don't have that normal film voices. It's like someone talking on the phone. It also doesn't have the normal film music so it looks cheap and it is cheap but it they sorted these two issues out it would be better. Also the review that said these aren't college girls there's a few who do look like 27-30. It's watchable if there's not anything available.
The Unholy (2021)
Jeffery Dean Morgan Chose This Film For A Reason
Without spoilers. I'm not in the habit of making reviews especially long drawn out ones. Unlike your usual jump scares and what's going on and befuddling it gets straight to the story. A underpaid journalist who used to make up stories that sell he now is doing stupid assignments for stupid money like $150 bucks after getting sacked for old antics. He's broke he's desperate, and Is told to look at some tedious case, he tries his old antics by making it into a story only this time he doesn't have to make anything up as he realises. It's faced paced. I love the interaction with him and the young girl, it's them who make the movie shine. It's not making your head explode with long drawn out moments. It gets into the heat of the story from the get go. It has everything for everyone even if you aren't a horror enthusiast but someone has made you watch it with them. It's original and that's why I see why JDM chose this as his next film project. Please don't listen to the bad reviews with a decent actor playing lead and the leading young lady whom they share a great connection in this it just makes you want to watch it more. Decide for yourself.
I'm 30 mins in and I'm gripped and usually I turn off about then as some horrors are bad dialogue etc.
Horror movies are always going to have bad ratings & reviews as they aren't real or realistic but that's why people watch them which is what these bad reviewers forget. It's a lot easier to be negative in this world then positive especially behind a keyboard. I've made a bad review don't get me wrong but it's not often I review anyway & it's only when I need to give a bad review.
I'm going to review every movie I watch from now on if time. It won't be long but it might help get good films seen. It's why I always rate the movie once I've saw it, so it helps the rates but reviews are what makes a film be watched. I encourage you to do the same even if it's a few lines especially if you liked it but there's to many bad reviews. It will help some poor soul have faith into watching it.
A TIP BELOW THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS MOVIE, IT ALSO GETS YOU MORE INVOLVED WITH IMDB, it will also help IMDb to recommend you with films your interested in.
I also create lists, movies that I've watched, movies to avoid, shows I've seen, my fav shows etc. I do this as well cos boy I watch a lot of films/shows and due to that I forget what I've watched. So now after watching a film I add it to my list of watched. If you don't already do this I'd advise you to start to as I'm sure you've sat down to watch a movie at one point only to realise you've watched it before. Also always give movies 15-20 mins to see if it's your style. Some movies get better as they go along but that's just a select few films that do this.
Son (2021)
Very good
I'd have given it a better score if if weren't for the low audio and higher music which I know is done on purpose to get the jumps (and it works) but I was struggling to hear at times especially when people are talking and movie music is over it. So have the control at hand so you can turn volume up and down when and if needed. Apart from that it's a solid film that's all I will say so I don't give any spoilers away. Great acting and it does draw you in.
Shadowland (2021)
So Bad it's awful
So it has Miss Eve in it which is a great actress but my that movie was so terrible & I'm from Scotland but I couldn't get through it bad everything.
Don't Hang Up (2016)
Great film
It's been done before but it is a good film and I like it that they have taken it into the future with online pranks etc even if it is a 2016 movie.
Follow Me (2020)
Wow
I don't normally write reviews but I never saw that coming. I watched it for the actors keegan and Holland. I wasn't expecting much but it blew my mind.
