Extract (2009)
Not just a funny comedy but a well-written story!
This would make a solid 3 star movie without the comedy. The humor lifted it to 4 stars in my opinion. Bateman is great and so is Kristin Wiig. Mila Kunis is both beautiful and believable in a very different kind of role. The movie went so fast due to the good plot and the comedy had many amusing parts and some laugh out loud moments. It's an intelligent story and not your usual garbage comedy that uses profanity for laughs. The cast is full of interesting characters played by great actors you'll recognize: a bar-tender confident of Bateman's played by Affleck, a neighbor played by David Koechner (the guy in Ron Burgundy with the cowboy hat), and the right hand man at Bateman's factory played by another hilarious actor J.K. Simmons (who played Peter Parker's editor in Spiderman).
Michael & Michael Have Issues (2009)
Great new show with 2 stars of the hit show and comedy team "Stella."
Love these guys from Stella. Michael Ian Black is the funniest guy in the world and Michael Showalter is great too. The show takes everyday occurrences and puts hilarious twists on them. They play two stars of a comedy documentary of how they make this show and play themselves using their own names. Ignore the mean review at the top given by someone who never even heard of Stella or these talented guys. I recommend that everyone checks it out. It is not very censored and yet keeps a certain realism by the rest of the cast that allows the humor to be believable and funny. They take current real issues and discuss them in the most creative and outrageous ways.
The Wicker Man (2006)
Great film!
Loved the film! Love films that send chills down your spine. Great acting and directing. Every scene of this film builds upon the one before it. It's a film worth seeing twice to watch it knowing everything. Cage is great in this role and gives credibility to every scene as we identify with him on every level. Some of the other actors faces are still with me and I saw the film a long time ago. I have to see it again. Those who are blasting this movie aren't real film buffs. I don't want to give anything away, but I hadn't seen the original and really was able to enjoy this one as if it were really happening to me through Nicholas Cage.
