The Mandalorian (2019)
S1-2 excellent major drop-off in s3 :(
Watching the last episode. Had to take a break, the writing is so sloppy and so so bad. So predictable. Very disappointed in favreau and his team. Sometimes I wonder if they got their children to write the script. Almost every scene I find myself bewildered at why characters aren't using what little brain cells they have. Other than bo katan there is no character development, it's more like character deterioration! Even Bo Katan's story is very weak and feels forced at times. The choreography is also terrible throughout the season.
They are very fortunate to have an endless budget that gave us stunning visuals. Because there's not much else to praise this season.
After this season I'm left feeling as though they stopped caring and started collected the paycheques. :(
Still can't believe how much worse this season is compared to s1/s2. S1 9/10, s2 8/10, s3 5.5/10( would be much lower without the beautiful visuals)
Inside (2023)
How do writers this bad get paid???
Don't be fooled by the good reviews. The claims that this is for a "mature" audience are by imbeciles with no brain cells. There's so many plot holes in this movie it's unbearable. The main character's decisions would suggest his IQ is comparable to a potato. But, he's not written to be considered a challenged individual. The ending, suggests he escapes through a skylight in the highest point of a penthouse....which is, obviously a terrible decision. The only other way he even tries to get out is to briefly chip away at the front door then quickly gives up. The rest of the time, which appears to be weeks, he spends relaxing, drawing and fooling around. Odd behavior for someone in a life or death situation. Also, little research was done on how difficult it would be to survive on little to no food(which is suggested instantly by an empty fridge). At one point he sees a cleaning lady come to the front door through security cameras, instead of trying to get her attention, he instead stands there hoping she uses her mind reading powers to suspect he's inside and opens the locked door....the plot holes are numerous, and it would be good without them. Unfortunately, the writing is ridiculously bad, and is likely written by an artist who failed to graduate kindergarten. If it wasn't for the acting and the cinematography it would be a zero.
How to with John Wilson (2020)
Complete rip off of John C Rilley's show
This is guy has stolen John C Reilly's bit from the show "Check It Out! With Dr. Steve Brule". He's done the same same thing but in public. Kind of irritating actually. Unoriginal and stolen.
The imitation in the voice is exactly the same and it's an actual bit from his show.
It wouldn't be as bad if he just did his normal voice.
Not much else to say. Go give johns show a watch if you haven't. It's better and obviously original. Hilarious as well.
I had to turn this show off after the first episode, it's really too bad. It's so hard to find original content anymore, really sad and pathetic.
The Last of Us: Left Behind (2023)
Poor acting, directing and script for this episode
This episode was awfully written. Very boring with useless drivel. Both the acting and the directing were terrible this episode. Also storm was a bad choice for the role, she didn't effectively portray the character and came off like she was faking a persona. Easily the worst episode of the bunch. Could have done a few flashbacks and one of pascal too would have been effective in getting the message across of what's going through her head.
3/10 surprised by this bad episode after how good the previous ones have been so far. Hope this trend doesn't continue or else the shows rating is going to drop FAAST.
Kateo (2022)
Could of been great
Acting - overall pretty good. Action scenes were well acted and choreographed.
Camera work - horrific. Most of the movie is on a drone or a handheld camera. Because of that you get super shaky camera work and weird angles from the drone that is pure stupidity.
Editing - home made amateur. You can visually see the cuts in editing. Weather sometimes just instantaneously changes. Sometimes time of day is different. Among many other bad edits.
CGI - brutal. Feels like 16-bit video game CGI sometimes.
Script - overall story is decent. But some of the scenes written are overly stupid. For example being dragged by a vehicle in a gun/car chase where tons of agents are attempting to kill you. Instead of shooting the target, they ditch the bike and jump in the car wait for the target to get in and then try and shoot? Haha that was unbelievably silly.
Movie had so much potential though. Really too bad the negatives are so large.
The Great Canadian Baking Show (2017)
Casting needs to be sent to the abyss
Leave it to CBC to take a good show and ruin it with horrible casting. Im not sure if the casting is in charge of the contestants too, but its clear they pick certain types before bringing talented bakers on the show. The hosts of this show have to be the worst hosts in all of television? Good god its bad. A couple of teenage kids winging it would make better hosts.
Bill Burr Presents: Friends Who Kill (2022)
Brutal
Wow. Everyone was bad. I kept holding out hope someone would be funny. But everyone sucked.
You'll be better off just skipping this even if there's comedians in here you love, you'll like them less after watching this.
Cowboy Bebop (2021)
Poorly done
The show is rushed.
Some casting is terrible, notably Faye(daniella Pineda)...wow just so bad.
Costume design, hair and makeup, are pretty atrocious. At times it feels like a cosplay.
John cho and mustaffa do a good job in their roles.
It's a shame, the show had potential. Bad storytelling. Overall the acting is good, except for the main characters not named spike & jet. Again Faye is terribly cast and just not good. Haven't made it to Ed yet, but I hear the show only gets worse...too bad because the cgi and set are good.
Midway (2019)
Good plot, brutal execution
This is way too rushed, it deserves to be turned into a mini-series. The dialogue is terrible and unnatural at times. Ed Skrein did not give his best performance here. The CGI is occasionally bad, and more video-game-like. Still a fun watch, but it could have been way better. It's too bad HBO didn't do a pacific/Band of brothers version of this.
A Quiet Place Part II (2020)
Looks good, but the stupidity is overwhelming!
Ill keep this short.
The script for the film and the characters is incredibly stupid.
The boy getting his leg destroyed by a bear trap( and screaming uncontrollably), is then miraculously walking around and deciding to go exploring at night, by himself, and leaves his baby brother alone after specifically being told to take care of it. There was no point in him doing this, and then he of course sees a dead body, and jumps off his injuries into some medical equipment making loads of noise. Totally believable. It only gets worse, when we see him losing oxygen extremely quickly....
The daughters actions have to be the most idiotic. The fact that shes deaf makes her incredibly vulnerable to making noises. I guess shes a trained ninja with the best sense of touch. They really skip some important details in the movie too. For example, when they are attacked on the docks, she somehow escapes multiple aliens, and hostile humans to find a small boat where she rescues the guy. The highlight of her peak stupidity, has to be near the end of the movie when she uses a hearing aid to stun the nearby monster, uses a small piece of metal to somehow kill it in one blow. Despite being a young girl, and the fact that these aliens are incredibly strong and can take multiple gun shots, yes this girl can use basically a shaft from a mop and kill this thing.
Every character has stupid scripts, theres too much to list. Im amazed this movie has the rating it has. I guess its been a long time since people have watched scripts that are worthwhile. Or, maybe everyone has become this stupid haha.
