Jana Gana Mana (2022)
An absolute snooze fest..!
First half was below average with some annoying melodrama and songs with absolutely no timing and mamta mohandas being portrayed as someone next to god..second half court room sequences went on for ages with some worthy questions asked but had zero resemblance with the actual court proceedings...The person who comes as judge is a total miscast and even Shammi Thilakan who has a tremendous initial hype says statements of no relevance and very little impact. Prithvi started rendering preachy dialogues rather than trying to defend his case and we wonder what was even the case under consideration...
could have fooled an average movie goer with over the top melodrama and punchy dialogues but not everyone...#disappointed.
Kala (2021)
Pathbreaking movie...!!
The movie defies the cliche hero- villain equation and delivers something that you have never seen before. The intense build up in the first half, the fierce duel in the second half and the dazzling climax sequences all make this a rare cinematic achievement in malayalam cinema...The movie as advertised is not to everyones taste but boy did it make my jaw drop in awe. The dedication of Moor and Tovino is praiseworthy. The standout bgm, brilliant cinematography and sharp cuts make this a treat for cinephiles...Dont miss this gem...!!
Trance (2020)
An exhilarating experience...! You simply cannot miss this one...
If you are into hard hitting ,adrenaline pumping, engrossing and out of the box movies then this movie is definitely for you...Its a genuine attempt at magical realism....hats off to Rasheed for the brilliant direction,Fahad for his usual charm, sushin and jackson for the engrossing music and amal for the stunning visuals...!
#To be watched in theatre for the wholesome experience#
Unda (2019)
Brilliant...!
With some exceptional individual performances and rib ticking situational humour, unda hits the target without resorting to any masala/mass ingredients. Simply put, its a movie you can't afford to miss....!
Sandesham (1991)
It would be an understatement to categorize this movie as a mere political satire...
I have watched this movie like a 100 times and not once has this movie failed to put a smile on my face...There aren't many movies that makes you laugh and think at the same time.If a non malayalee watch this movie without subs he would mistake it for a serious movie..that's the beauty of the film. It's the situations and the sarcasm that gives you laughs rather than the stupid gimmicks other comedy movies resort to.The movie delivers socio-political messages at multiple levels, a rare cinematic feat in malayalam cinema. The importance of family, parent's blind love for their children, the time we waste on stupid arguments, political manipulation and many other events that we can relate to our daily lives come and go in a beautiful manner. wonder why they don't make movies like this anymore....
