Beyond Paradise (2023)
It's okay but...
You should have more murders. Better yet, all murders. It is Kind of boring so far. A couple of the characters are weak, but it's early yet. They haven't synced into characters you like yet, except for Marshall, Bretton, and Ahmadi. You should follow what is already successful. An England version of Death in Paradise would be awesome. The excitement of Death in Paradise is missing. I can't for the life of me understand it. Every show is a risk, I guess, but why would you leave a successful formula? Death in Paradise has succeeded with major character changes. You should also drop the 600 word rule.
American Fable (2016)
Could've Been Something Special
If you removed the weirdness. Good story idea without actually becoming a good story. Too much left unsaid. And the horse and rider makes no sence at all.
Ghost Month (2009)
Bad Script, Bad Acting, Bad Direction
I just watched 31:19 of this flick and came to IMDb to rate. I should have came here before I started watching and checked the rating. It is such a poor movie. I kept hoping it would get better, but it didn't, and it's not worth watching more of it to find out; especially after reading reviews. It's a cliché, but WHAT WERE THEY THINKING when they made this movie. Complete trash. I believe I was exposed to 7 actors in the first 31 minutes and the two best are the taxi driver and the aunt--no lines. The scene where the maid character is sitting on a blanket reading a book and the neighbor comes may be the worst acting I've seen--at least in a long time. This is one of those movies that if you sit down and watch it, when it's over you'll say to yourself, "Why did I waste my time watching this?" Don't watch it.
Push (2009)
Not Great, but Not Bad
I rather liked the film. It's not one I'll watch several times, but it was entertaining. I don't think the film was intended as a work of art, but as entertainment it's a success. I didn't find it confusing or hard to follow, and while it might be said to be a little predictable, that wasn't much of a distraction for me. It's worth watching just to keep up with what Dakota Fanning is doing, not to mention Camilla Belle. These are two fine young actors to keep an eye on. Chris Evans doesn't really impress, but again, it ain't Shakespeare. I thought the street shots of Hong Kong were interesting. It's much different from when I was there many years ago. I think it would be okay for most kids to watch too. There is violence, but not a lot of blood and gore.
