Doom: Annihilation (2019)
Plastic-covered ARs/AKs
To give you an idea of how this movie is put together, the "futuristic" battle rifles in this movie are just regular AR-15s and AK-47s with black plastic glued around them. This movie looks like a low-budget Sci-Fy Channel original from fifteen years ago, like Battlestar Galactica or whatever garbage was on TV back then. Cheap plastic sets, plastic-covered weapons, plastic body armor, no-name actors and cheesy lines.
Skip this one and pull out the old original Doom with The Rock and have a much more enjoyable film experience.
The Devil's Carnival (2012)
Rating will go down dramatically...
First off, I'm not a reviewer. Aside from making my opinions known to my friends and family, I've never made much of an attempt at doing any formal reviews. I was so disappointed with this film that I felt it was my duty to save the vast majority of people from wasting their time with this movie. My girlfriend and I were on Netflix, browsing through the endless mediocre and bland titles, when we stumbled across a movie that had almost five stars! A brief look at IMDb revealed an 8+ rating! So we hunker down and prepare ourselves for what we thought was going to be the best movie we've ever seen. Unless you like musicals with no plot then don't waste your time. After doing more in-depth research as to how this show received such high ratings I discovered that it is a cult film for those people who have seen the road show (whatever that is...I'm assuming a low- budget Broadway type thing?). Unless you are one of these fans of the road show I can almost guarantee that you will be utterly bored as people with stage makeup and carnie costumes sing and hop around a circus ring for 50 minutes. Save yourself the boredom and waste of time. I feel sorry for the others who were tricked (not really anyone's fault, just a cult film with a small but loyal fan base) into watching this, but now that it is on Netflix it will lose its near-perfect rating in a matter of days.
Igor (2008)
humor was lame, horrible for children
i was so disappointed with this movie that i registered with IMDb just to post my displeasure with it. my wife and i picked it up at the redbox for a Sunday afternoon laugh with the six-year-old. as fans of tim burton type films, we were expecting a witty and enjoyable experience. i love comedy films of all colors, but this movie did not provoke so much as one smile. the puns were extremely predictable and lame, and many times very inappropriate. we were horrified to have our child watch a movie that was marketed and rated as a children's movie that contained such vulgar and dark content. for the 30 minutes that we watched, we were bombarded with nothing but verbal/physical abuse towards the characters, along with repeated attempts at trying to make suicide a humorous subject. when we got to a part where the main character is telling another that they need to teach them how to "murder" people, we had enough and turned it off. if your child is not already in their teens, i strongly suggest refraining from watching this movie with them, regardless of its PG rating. however, even if i had watched this movie alone i would have still turned it off because of its complete lack of depth and humor. two thumbs down for this misleading movie.
