G'wed (2024)
Scouse Inbetweeners
This is basically inbetweeners on Merseyside.
It's got a very good young cast. A nice mix with some of the adults really tying in very well.
The thing I liked about this was it's taking back to the early 2000s when comedies were not overlay censored but this does have some serious topics in them that are dealt with sympathetically whilst being very funny at the same time.
There is a bit too many 'lads' and 'girl's in the language for me but, hey, if that's what it's like in Toxteth then G'wed!
As my review title says it's a bit of Inbetweeners (posh kid moved to the area) with Derry Girls mixed in and placed in the North of England. Something that's been missing since. Shameless.
Anatomy of a Scandal (2022)
Good, but could have been better
The first few episodes had me gripped. So much so, that I watched the first three back to back.
What was disappointing was the court room parts. I understand they need to dramatize this, but they went too far with it.
Vigil (2021)
Turgid
With such a cast this could have and should have been a lot better.
Too many pointless, confusing flashbacks. I can only assume they were used to flesh out the episodes.
Surrane Jones is a great actress, but is it now for her to be cast as someone with mental health issues? Surly she needs to expand her roles now.
Traces (2019)
Great potential but meh
This has great potential but is let down by a convoluted story. I don't get the hype over Molly Windsor role in this either.
Succession (2018)
Season One Great, Season Two - Meh
Binged watched Season one it's that good. A great story. Some great dark laughable moments. You're made to hate them and love parts of them at the same time.
Season two starts off really good. But it very quickly becomes the same and confusing and gets very lost.
