Catch Me If You Can (2002)
Enjoyable, fascinating movie that absorbs you!
I found this film really enjoyable. It joins a prestigious category of films based on true life stories, such films seem better than the general manufactured storylines.
This film gave Leonardo Di Caprio the chance to use his baby face looks to great effect - at long last. Tom Hanks also gave a solid supporting role which is unsurprising for someone of his ability.
Goodfellas (1990)
Excellent, enthralling film, don't miss it
This film ranks high up in estimation alongside The Godfather as a truly enthralling film about gangster life. Its 100% interesting and its the sort of film thats so interesting you dare not blink for a second. And whats more is that its based on a true story!
American Psycho II: All American Girl (2002)
A shadow of the original masterpiece (possible spoiler)
Whilst AP was an Intriguing film into the mind (and possible serial killing activities) of Patrick Batemen (brilliantly played by Christian Bale)and his yuppie lifestyle, AP2 is just another ordinary teen horror movie with humour. The setting and the script to AP2 guarantee this is a shadow in every possible way to the original masterpiece. They just included the scene at the start as the only possible link from the original Storyline (and a very poor link at that! Where Batemen is stabbed to death by a 12 year old girl) so they could get away with calling this film a sequel.
AP2 assumes that Batemen definately was a serial killer who killed scores of people. I ask if this was so then how could he (a great serial killer) be stabbed to death by a little 12 year old girl? As a sequel to AP I give it 0 out of ten. As a stand alone film I rate it 4 out of ten.
The Dentist (1996)
This is the worst film I've ever watched on DVD. It lacked a proper storyline, character depth, suspense and imagination.
Anyone could write a script as poor as this one. It was just about a crazy dentist -Dr. Allan Feinstone who suffers hallucinations. One by one he kills/tortures various members of his staff as well as his wife and his local tax inspector - unsuprisingly by using the tools of his trade.
This film is just too predictable - this mass pychotic murderer storyline has been done many times before and much better before.(e.g Silence of the Lambs) I feel guilty that I rated it as high as 1 out of ten.
