Diplomatic Siege (1999)
Failed effort of falling stars
This is a low-budget film based on poor directing, dumb script and unbelievable story line (after 9/11, but even before that, it is more clear who would blow up a US embassy). Acting is another story - no wonder that the cast has to resort to such projects. If I would have to see this film one more time, I would have to ask for a total anaesthesia.
Behind Enemy Lines (2001)
Leni Riefenstahl wannabe
If Leni Riefenstahl were still making 'patriotic' propaganda movies today, this is how it would look like, less style, knowledge and grace that she undoubtedly exercised. This film will appeal only to less-sophisticated plebs who needs entertainment based on simple black-and-white thoughts and messages. Alas, there are people in the industry who will continue to cash in on this premise.
Supernova (2000)
decent SF
Quite decent SF which, by the way of poor editing, missed the opportunity to be a great SF. Common places minimally annoying, several fresh moments and commendable sound and visuals (both photography and effects). This film will be more appreciated by the mature audience.
Savior (1998)
Not for fainthearted
This is a film with a strong and universal message. You learn that the state will change if the trait is there, no matter how hard one is affected. Kudos for Oliver Stone and non-Yugoslav (Serbian?) cast who were brave enough to participate in this pre - 9/11 project (things seem to change diametrically after this date), and performed masterfully at that. One could argue that there is some artificial even-handiness in this film, but without this, the film could have been labelled as 'propaganda'. Now, this is a well-balanced story that takes you for an emotional roller-coaster ride and leaves you shaken at the end.
