Shooter (2007)
One of my favorite movie
Sometimes I wonder why I wait so long before watching a certain movie, especially one that has received praise from essentially everyone I know that has ever seen it This is a spellbinding story. Full of believable action. Characters and plot are well developed. The "bad guys" actors walked through their lines which was a shame. Love this movie it's been one of my favorites since it came out.... I love the story and the way the actors especially Mark Walbern (sp) bring their characters to light. Owever, Wahlberg and Peña were absolutely wonderful actors and worked extremely well together. I'd watch it again for sure! Kudos to these gentlemen! Five stars.
If you love to shoot and military movies. This one is for you.
Inception (2010)
Inception, on at technical level, is nearly flawless
Inception, on at technical level, is nearly flawless. The editing is brilliant, and he's able to weave all these different story lines so seamlessly to make something so amazing. The cinematography is the best it's ever been for Nolan. The stylish aesthetics, the smart use of lighting (such as the way Nolan makes the distinction between certain scenes in dreams vs reality), the amazing production design, etc.
The script, as well, is absolutely brilliant. Reportedly, Nolan had been writing this screenplay for roughly 10 years, and it shows. Everything is paid off here. Every single concept that Nolan introduces from the totem to the kick to the music, and everything else introduced. It's brilliantly structured as well. A film like this could truly have been a confusing mess of a film in lesser hands, but Christopher Nolan's steady and in-control direction keeps us from getting left behind. We're constantly able to follow the story along. Cobb as a character is complex and well-rounded with relatable and interesting motivations that keep the audience engaged throughout the entire runtime.
The cast is all great. Leonardo DiCaprio gives, once again, another great performance as Cobb. He beautifully depicts the conflict within this character, the endless amount of guilt that he feels for his wife's death. He feels guilt and even though we don't know why, we can see it on his face. And the rest of the cast is great as well, with a personal favorite being Tom Hardy's Eames.
The movie has some interesting kinds of layers to it. It's a story about dreams and reality (quite masterfully depicted, as you are forced to pay attention to follow what is and isn't a dream), an allegory to movies as well. The film makes an argument that in face of uncertainty, one should take a leap of faith, something repeated throughout the film, and embodied through its ending as Cobb walks away from the top letting it spin to its heart's content. But for me, what made this movie so amazing was the story of a man moving beyond his obsessive guilt over his wife's death, and getting back to his children. The emotional core of the story is that, and it's what makes Inception such a while journey.
Inception is also the Nolan movie I've re-watched the most besides only one other, and for good reason. There's so much to unpack in this film from the themes, philosophies, and ideas used, to the jaw dropping spectacle shown, Inception is a highly re-watchable movie that never gets boring.
Road House (2024)
It was fun! I really liked the cinematography on the action,
It was more of a cartoon than a movie. If you want a John Wick type movie, it's for you. It was a stupid but enjoyable good time. Kinda threw me at the beginning that everyone behaved like he was the protagonist in an anime - total strangers starting up conversations and introducing themselves. A bit weird.
Also why did she have thousands of dollars in cash to give him to protect the bar?? Why is she that rich when violence has been driving business away?
But who cares - the punching was good and the explosions were good and I liked the part with the "I'm mad so now I'm a nice guy murderer" ... idk. Don't regret seeing it. Expect a sequel.
The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
After watching this movie you'll feel life somewhat different...
After watching this movie you'll feel life somewhat different. The problem with our mind is we need loads of action scenes, romance, thriller and too many dialogues, but u cant find those in this movie. This movie is like reading a novel. I felt so much exciting at the end of the movie. It's a must watch movie for everyone. I don't care its in IMDB Top 250 or not. It's one great movie to me, which I always suggest to my friends all the time.
Story line:
Andy Dufresne, Bank manager is accused of murdering his wife and gets lifetime imprisonment. He meets RED,a fellow prisioner and they bond for years. In Prison ,he goes through various problems and how he overcomes those is the whole movie.
Reality :
This movie shows you ,how you'll be treated in prison, mercilessly. The food, the people, the prison warden and head-in-charge , etc. The beautiful thing about this movie is Morgan freeman's voice, that sweet narration of the story side-by-side will make u feel like WOW. The only fast sequence in this movie is the Climax. It's worth it till the end. After watching this movie you will feel like u have lived in jail for years, kind of experience, but a memorable experience.
Sometimes it will be more thrilling to watch good movies without exploring more reviews, don't search answers you can blindly watch this movie. It's a must watch movie for lifetime.
