Shaitaan (2024)
Psychological thriller with a dash of horror
The story revolves around a family who lets this stranger into their farmhouse, and things get super creepy when he starts controlling their daughter. It's like every command he gives, she just can't say no.
The atmosphere is the real winner here. They've done an amazing job without any CGI, and it all hinges on the antagonist's mind games. It's not your typical horror movie with cheap jump scares; it's more about that unsettling feeling that stays with you.
Now, the performances are top-notch. R. Madhavan as the sinister stranger is just outstanding, and Ajay Devgn nails it as the desperate father.
The cinematography is dope, really adds to the dread, and the music by Amit Trivedi? Spot on. But yeah, the narrative does stumble at times, and the whole supernatural vs. Science debate feels a bit cliché.
Overall, it's a decent watch if you're into psychological thrillers with a dash of horror. Just don't expect too many surprises.
Haunted Mansion (2023)
The jokes are hit or miss
It's got some cool moments and the sets are pretty wild-definitely gives off those theme park vibes. Rosario Dawson and LaKeith Stanfield are in it, but honestly, they could've done more with the cast.
The jokes are hit or miss, and the romance part? Kinda meh. It's fun for a one-time watch if you're into a bit of comedy with your spooks, but don't expect it to stick with you for long.

Devilman: Crybaby (2018)
Unique experience but uneven execution
Devilman Crybaby, Netflix's anime adaptation of Go Nagai's manga, is a wild ride through violence, gore, and philosophical exploration. While praised for its animation, unique visual style, and tackling of mature themes like religion and identity, it's equally criticized for its graphic content, sometimes gratuitous violence, and pacing issues.
If you're looking for something intense, thought-provoking, and visually distinct, Devilman Crybaby might be your jam. But be prepared for its brutal content and uneven execution. It's definitely not for everyone, but for those who can stomach it, it offers a unique and unforgettable experience.
The Patient (2022)
I liked the ending
The Patient is a psychological thriller that explores the relationship between a therapist (Steve Carell) and his captive patient (Domhnall Gleeson), who is a serial killer. The show is intriguing and intense, but also frustrating and repetitive. The performances of the two leads are excellent, but the plot does not offer much surprise or variation.
The show is more interested in the themes of empathy, guilt, and responsibility than in the suspense or action. The Patient is a show that will appeal to fans of character-driven dramas, but may disappoint those who expect more twists and thrills.
