A never ending roller coaster of emotion, love, and reality
5 September 2002
The director, screenwriters, and most of all the actors have played up every real feeling and emotion to keep this movie true. The entire cast and crew on this production did something that not many can do in the present day: they set out to make a film that actually meant something. The issues of capital punishment and interracial relationships only touched the surface to the depth of what this movie covered. Just to display the raw and real human qualities that are often hidden was a unique journey. For those who are still resisting to see this movie for whatever reason, please leave your `reasoning' at the door and view this film. Video stores and pay per view are so easily accessible, so there is no reason that this should be missed.

Gosford Park (2001)
Interesting
4 September 2002
I recently watched Gosford Park on pay-per-view, it is an exceptionally entertaining film, what with its talented cast and the colorful characters that they play. The film impressed me with its sharp-wit, and the interesting dialogue between each character. The rich scenery includes you into the film to an extent where you feel like you are walking in the halls along with the maidservants. No matter how you feel about other murder-mystery films you will definitely not be disappointed with this film.

Rollerball (2002)
Rollerball is the movie of the ages
16 August 2002
The movie, however much many of you may feel, is not all that bad. Rollerball does deliver action and sometimes, humor, if you look at it in the right light. I just saw the movie on pay-per-view and was laughing through the whole thing. My friends and I really got a kick out of it. Check it out and see for yourself!

Hart's War (2002)
Controversy gives birth to Hart's War
14 August 2002
Lt. Hart is in a Nazi prison camp near the end of WWII. The prisoners in there have a trial for a new black prisoner that is wrongly accused of murder. I enjoyed the movie a lot, however unrealistic it may have seemed. Yes, the chances of a prisoner in a Nazi prison camp being allowed to conduct a trial may seem farfetched. But the action is compelling and definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat. A friend of mine told me that the movie is coming out on payperview in two weeks! I need to see the movie again because i think its one of those movies that you need to see more than once. Ciao!

Gosford Park (2001)
Gosford for timeless entertainment
13 August 2002
Gosford Park is a great movie that shows us a brief glimpse at how life was for the aristocrats of the 1930s. The movie is interesting to me mainly because of the painstaking detail that was put into each scene. Robert Altman did an excellent job with the character interaction that takes place throughout the movie. Also, it is interesting to pay attention to how Altman separated the upper class from their servants. He makes sure to show a sharp distinction between the two. I enjoyed this film extensively and still catch things each time I see it. If you haven't seen the movie, it is on pay-per-view now!

An excellent movie with great acting and excellent cinemintography.
9 August 2002
A Beautiful Mind is an excellent film. Russell Crowe delivers a stellar performance, as usual. The rest of the characters in the film were also cast well. The cinemintography is also impeccable and the storyline is intellectually stimulating. It is a must see movie.

A compelling story of loss, love, and growth
6 August 2002
I must admit that upon watching Monster's Ball the first time, I was not prepared for the shock value of the film. But upon viewing it a second time, I was able to see it for what it was. It's a journey about growth and change in life, and how bad times can actually make a person stronger in character. I thought that both Thornton and Berry's portrayls of their characters were uninhibited and as real as they come. The appearances by rappers Puff Daddy and Mos Def may have attracted out of genre audiences, but added to the messages behind the film. The characters were well developed and had great chemistry; the script was well-written and executed; and the message is lasting. Of course, I can't spoil what that message is, so those of you who have yet to catch this flick should by all means rent or pay per view it in order to understand what I mean. Caution: there are some graphic scenes reminiscent of American History X, so children are strongly cautioned.

How High (2001)
go see it
28 June 2002
I have to say that after Scary Movie i didnt think that anything would get funnier. I was wrong because as soon as i saw the opening scene of how high, i realized that i was in for 2 hours of straight up bathroom humor. How High was an energetic and silly as all hell stoner movie, with many scenes that would almost only make sense to one of baked, but is also humorous to anyone else. In a generation of hip hop, this movie seems to sum up everything that Method man and Redman Rap about on their albums....pimps, hoes, money, weed, and a harvard education. When i saw that this movie was going to be on video and Pay per view soon, i knew i had to see it again with my friends, its definatley one to lift the spirits.

The Musketeer (2001)
Great Movie To Watch at Home
31 May 2002
I thought that the movie was an original version of the classic novel. It incorporated great fighting scenes that were out of this world. They looked as if they were some kind of asian/western/ fencing techniques all blended in with awesome stunt men. Also the story had a nice pace, the only problems were that the characters were underdeveloped. Mena Suvari had a great part and also great chemistry with Dartagnon (Justin Chambers) and I would have like to see more of the romance, but it was short and vauge. I would recommend this for a movie to watch at home or maybe on PPV, I don't know about spending more than that on it.

if your not swept away by penelope cruz, the landscape will do just fine.

As I was watching the List of movies offered on Pay Per View, I stumbled across Captain Corellis Mandolin. It was a friday evening and the setting in my apartment was romantic, so i decided to give it a try. Surprisingly i thought CCM was intriguing, from the whole scenery to the acting to the love story. As we follow the story of a small greek island town who is being invaded by Italian Soldiers during World War two, it focus's on Penelope Cruz and Nicholas Cage (an Italian Soldier) as they meet and fall in love through out all the turmoil and tragedy that is brought upon by the war. CCM is very touching but also moves slow at parts. Although i couldnt imagine paying the full amount to buy the dvd, i would definatley recommend it as a cheap watch on pay per view.

O (2001)
A movie for a saturday night
31 May 2002
I was surprised when i hesitantly ordered this movie on pay per view to find that it was not as bad as i preconceived. The content is compelling and explosive, the issues and the twists, although they did not come as a surprise to me having previosly read Othello , were also surprising and have a precise way of being marvel. I was also very impressed by Julia Stiles performance although it lacked in length, she is now the queen of shakespeare adaptations as she has starred in movies such as 10 things i hate about you and hamlet. The cinemetography was very dark and captivating, creating the mood for a great tragedy, so were the characters. Mehki Phiffer did a great job of playing Odin, and Josh Hartnett, who ussually plays a heartthrob, did a great job as the villain. He exudes veangefullness in every direction. All in all, i would definatley recommend this movie as a stay home and rent or order on pay per view film.
