As the title says, this movie i rated a lot higher than the average. Partially due to liking the setting, and also the acting and effects weren't bad from my point of view. Plotline was, while not containing any large surprises or twists, decent and acceptable. Shame also the featured reviews are rated lower than the average. Really shows a bias from iMDB and its users. It is an average horror movie and thriller but still not much worse than that. I liked most of the actors and they all did a fine job in my opinion. Some well known and some lesser known are present in the cast. Also i can proudly say that i swim against the stream as a movie critic.

I suppose that not all directors can appeal to all ppl. It just seems this one like to make shallow and uninteresting stuff. I don't find this movie having any redeeming qualities except the main actors, the rest are just horrible as far as i have seen. Not my kind of entertaiment as i prefer deeper and more avant garde horror movies and direction of them. I can't see how the main character benefit from making a fool of himself and being portrayed as an idiot. In fact Stephen King himself should feel ashamed for ever writing this crap. Worst movie i have ever encountered, i even rated Stephen King's "The Mangler" higher. I won't watch anything more from this director, probably.

Worst Cronenberg movie yet for me personally

I really can't see how this movie has any redeeming qualities except the actors in it. It is below average at best. Plot is messy, acting is, as i said, sometimes ok due to great names being in it, but mostly bad and unconvincing. Plot twists are boring and predictable. Effects are pretty top notch for its time but that isn't something that makes a movie good for me, just a bonus. It is altho entertaining enough to finish watching, but never even attempts to reach for the levels of this director's best works. Given the era of it, when video games were pretty new, it probably would have been more fun to watch back then.

Not heavily, but arguably a bit, overrated. The plot is boring and predictable, characters aren't portrayed that much in depth and very cliché. "Two-sided" story is usually a bad idea, and none of the parts of the story was really interesting. The first movie was arguably better, altho not super great. I guess it is just really not this kind of alien horror that i prefer. Kinda good enough if you don't have anything more rewarding to do, but basically most horror movies are better than this. The ending was very cliché and for me not really satisfying. More background story should have been given to the characters, i felt like i didn't really get to know any one of them.

Pretty good movie, acting is at least half decent and overall quite scary. The setting is very odd, a house on a large open field, you wouldn't think this gives room for much suspense but it feels like the movie still manages to make something of it. Among spanish horror movies i would say it isn't as good as for example "The Orphanage" but quite similar in some ways. I guess some countries have their own view of what's scary and not. I love spanish horror overall. Special effects leave a bit to desire but nothing overly bad. The ending i guess is quite sad and not really very clear of what happened next.
