Wonderwell (2023)
Carrie Fisher is a little diamond
A magical coming-of-age tale set in stunning Italy. While K. Milward impresses as Violet, Rita Ora's Yana steals the show. Known for her diverse career, Ora brings depth & sophistication to Yana. I remember Rita Ora well from the films Southpaw, Fifty Shades Freed, Twist, to name a few. I loved Carrie Fisher in the
Wonderwell. She looks very comfortable in her current role. As for the film, Italy's landscapes, brilliantly captured, add an ethereal charm. Each shot is art, showcasing Italy's essence & the story's magic. And the mysterious forest is full of secrets, unusual creatures, carnivorous flowers and good witches. A must-watch, especially for Ora's fans and Carrie Fisher lovers. Great storyline, stellar cast & Italy's allure make it a treat. A solid 9/10 for me.
Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo (1966)
a great concept
The performances in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly are nothing short of exceptional. Clint Eastwood embodies the enigmatic "Man with No Name" character with minimal dialogue, effortlessly conveying strength, cunning, and unpredictability. Lee Van Cleef's portrayal of Angel Eyes exudes a chilling malevolence, making him one of the most memorable villains in cinematic history. Eli Wallach, on the other hand, steals the show with his charming portrayal of Tuco, bringing depth, humor, and humanity to an otherwise despicable character.
While the film maintains a meticulous pacing, some viewers may find its runtime daunting. However, every minute is justified, as the intricate plot unfolds with twists and turns, leading to a mesmerizing climax that leaves an indelible mark on the viewer's psyche.
