Wo ai ni! (2023)
Good movie but editing can be better
I recently watched this movie but it was let down by its editing choices. This movie had emotional scenes that unfortunately suffered from a lack of continuity and an excessive number of cutaways, leaving the audience feeling somewhat disconnected from the characters and their emotions.
One of the standout issues in this film was the way it handled emotional scenes. Too often, the audience was denied the opportunity to see the artists' faces during crucial moments. Instead, the movie opted for cutaways and other shots that obscured the actors' expressions, making it difficult to fully connect with the characters' feelings. This editing choice greatly hindered the emotional impact of key scenes and left viewers yearning for a deeper connection with the characters.
Despite these editing shortcomings, the movie did have its merits. The performances by the cast were commendable, and the storyline had potential. Additionally, the cinematography and visual aesthetics were noteworthy, contributing to the film's overall appeal.
In conclusion, this movie had all the elements needed for success - a talented cast, an engaging story, and impressive visual design. However, the editing choices, particularly in emotional scenes and the excessive use of cutaways, detracted from the movie's potential impact. With more thoughtful editing and a focus on maintaining emotional continuity, this film could have been a far more powerful and memorable cinematic experience.
Paradise (2023)
Nice Concept but the ending is out of expectation
I recently watched this film and I must say this movie had an engaging concept that kept me hooked from start to finish, and its art design was simply breathtaking. However, the ending left me utterly surprised, and not necessarily in a good way.
However, as much as I appreciated the concept and art design, the ending left me with mixed feelings. It took an unexpected turn that seemed to diverge from the established narrative, leaving several loose ends. While I appreciate filmmakers who take risks and challenge the audience's expectations, in this case, it felt like the ending was abrupt and somewhat unsatisfying. I was left with more questions than answers, and it left me pondering the true meaning of the story.
