The Vampire Next Door (2024)
Slow and boring
I started watching this and couldn't believe it was filmed in 2024. It felt like a cheap low budget movie from the 80s. The actors are so bland and monotone. Nothing about this film is creative or funny. It's just a bunch of nonsense that a child could have written. The main actor seemed like he was smirking the whole time and being playful. I wouldnt recommend this movie even it was free. One a lighter note the girls are pretty and one of them looks just like Kim Kardashian. It's her replica! Don't waste your time. Don't bother if you're into cool vampire shows. I just wish they would come out with some thing smart and worth watching!
One Day (2024)
Unimpressive and cringe
I am not sure who is raving about this show. Right off the bat it seemed cliche and a bit over the top with the acting. Most importantly the lead actress doesn't captivate the screen. I hate to say this but she is the most unattractive woman I have ever seen on screen. I can't believe they would cast her. It has nothing to do with her skin color or anything like that which I am sure people will use as an excuse towards anyone who differs in opinion. There were plenty of impressionable natural talents that could at least been cute to look at. Sometimes the characters personality comes through their eyes or smile and it makes up for the lack of beauty but this girl has nothing to make up for it. And her acting is mediocre. There isn't a single gesture that inspired me to watch this show further.
Expats (2023)
Sad Unlikable expats in Hong Kong
I really wanted to like this show I really did; mostly because the premise seemed promising for it to be a good show, not to mention, that it included Nicole Kidman. However, I found myself constantly asking questions that were left unanswered? Why is she taking a bath here and passing that place with brooms? Is that where Gus is? Now that Mercy is pregnant will Hilary confront her? Where is this leading? That's how you feel watching this show. At every turn you find yourself asking a lot of questions yet you keep watching and hoping that maybe at some point you will get that aha moment, that maybe it will all tie together, that at some point there will be some redemption, but no. No my friends that is not so. Unfortunately we are left with messy dialogues, scenes that I could film in a kitchen, and characters who have no purpose but to be unlikable. Nobody has a wise or smart thing to say. No one has depth. All you're watching is a documentary about Hong Kong. That's it, with every scene and emotion disconnected from the next with wildly predictable moments and house chores.
The Wheel of Time (2021)
Better than game of thrones!
This show should be hyped as much as game of thrones. In fact I just finished season 2 and expected Game of Thrones to end on this note! Sadly I'm reminded how much injustice was done to the last season of that show but the Wheel of Time delivers on all levels, from its characters, costumes, set designs, and storylines! It's similar to the Witcher series where you are taken into different worlds, with the dark vs light aspect to the plot. When the show first starts you don't know what to expect and a lot begins to unfold without much direction. But slowly we see each of these characters evolve and develop. The line between dark and light at the times blur however the intent of characters are very much the highlight of the show. Each play their part and bring to life their struggles and past traumas. The characters have a light and dark that makes them relatable.
The Nest (2020)
Family drama not a thriller by any means
This movie's genre title is misleading. It's not a psychological thriller and definitely not a horror film. It's a very slow boring move about a family that is just miserable in every way. There was not one likable character in this movie. Not one. I have no idea why everything had to be filmed so suspenseful without suspense?!! The town was hallow and it seemed no one existed but this family. The mom was a strange woman who was far from being the dream woman this man was trying to impress. She lacked personality, class and danced like they let her out of a cage. Considering the husband was trying to impress others and put up the persona of a wealthy Brit, yet chose to marry her, is contradictory. The plot was weak, the story line and dialogue even weaker. Can't understand the high ratings here at all.
Fool Me Once (2024)
Could have been good but it's not
I rarely ever write a review. This is my second review in my lifetime. I must say I truly gave this show a chance and watched the whole thing. It hooks you in questionable scenarios. There's a lot of unknowns to uncover but if you like smart shows and have some common sense you can see a lot of holes and bad acting, not to mention horrible dialogue. The dialogue between people sounds like they're reading off a book. And why do they constantly use each other's names??? It's so strange. The lead actress being an ex army commander is just laughable and her expressionless acting leaves you yawning at every turn. She seems clueless as a door knob. The police investigator is just a sad over actor. I can go on and on. It's just so bad. If you want something mind numbing then this show is definitely worth watching!
Seven Kings Must Die (2023)
Can't express how Amazing the actors are!!
People should stop giving low ratings just because it wasn't a series! There is a series go watch it! This was a great movie that tied up a low budget series. It has better acting and definitely a better ending than GOT! I love the actors especially Uhtred. The amount of emotions this show brings leaves you wanting more. I can not express how underrated this show is compared to the big shot movies that flop on the big screen. The wisdom these show bring and touch on human emotion is never something you see at the movies anymore. These are the type of movies and actors people want to see on the big screen. It deserves an Oscar. It was also a great way to end an epic show!! Bravo 👏
