Iwa Kakeru!: Sport Climbing Girls (2020)
Cute series I enjoyed it
This series is basically about the sport of climbing.
The fact that making a series out of it is actually surprising.
Basically, each and every school in the series has team of girls who participate in Rock Climbing Tournaments.
I enjoyed watching this series I think it's pretty cool, the characters are cool especially the 4 main characters of the series.
The series brings all the competitive aspects.
Like training hard in order to succeed, overcoming fears, overcoming failures, dealing with rivals, dealing with the success of others, improving yourself.
And you can see the main characters go through all of that together, supporting each other.
It's a pretty good show. I wish it was longer. 12 episodes is literally nothing.
I mean the main characters are so cool (and cute) feels like giving them only 12 episodes is pathetic.
The characters are cool and the writing is good, feels like we could have had the potential for something bigger.
Titans (2018)
Could have been better
I enjoyed season 1 it was good it felt like this series is going to be something unique, season 2 was also good, season 3 started becoming weird but it was also "ok". The series started to feel like each episode is actually long and the producers had to fill it with something but they filled it with nothing especially in season 4.
I understand why there won't be a continuation for the series. The first two seasons were good, but after that it felt like the writes went out of ideas quicky.
Each season had a main villain and by the end of a season they got rid of him. In the world of "super heros" you don't just get rid of the villain so easily unless you want to end the series quickly.
Each season was really focused on the villain himself and everything else was secondary. By the end of each season you get rid of a villain. That means, you can have seasons as much as there were villains basically.
Naruto: Shippûden (2007)
Trying Being Honest
This series is awfully long, filled with huge amount of fillers, and tons of stories.
I enjoyed it but still I would've rather kept the series a little more simple. It felt like most of the series could have had ended by episode 175 (Pain Arc). After episode 175 I didn't have the same enjoyment anymore. Naruto defeated the leader of the Akatsuki, Sasuke got his revenge on his brother, Naruto is the hero of Konoha. But it didn't end there, it got more and more deep, which also aparted it from being "realistic" and got more detached from OG Naruto.
I mean, it all concluded to the "eye of the moon plan" the villains tried to conduct- putting everyone into a dream so there won't be suffering and pain and wars.
The plan was originated by Nagato but actually Tobi was behind it, behind Tobi was Madara, but no. It actually was Black Zetsu who was trying to bring back an alian. It got wierd and long but still fun to watch.
I wish it would have been more simple. There is an evil organization, you are taking them down, that's it.
Through the series we get to know things that we didn't know by first glance, the series always reveals more details, more explanations. What's behind everything that happens, the story behind every character.
Which is ok but it got too much. I think it's written good but it's written in a sort of way that went on and on and on... The series could have been thousand episodes. I know the writer wanted to defeat One Piece by length.
I don't like it less than OG Naruto. But man, OG Naruto kept things way more simple!
I guess people like good series to never end.
By the way, The Akatsuki are the best villain team of all time!
Naruto (2002)
Naruto
I think it's a good show and a good shonen but I think this show is for a little bit older ages because it has alot more complex in it. Unlike Naruto, Dragon Ball Z was more simple, the characters were just fighting. Here you have Taijutsu, Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, Chakra. More developed complicated fighting styles and techniques rather than just fighting the enemy full force with your bare hands. It has a lot of stories too rather than just 1 or 2 big stories. Alot of characters, alot of names to know, alot of things to remember. You might enjoy it. I think you might enjoy it more as a younger adult.
If you've watched Dragon Ball it's not like that. Dragon Ball is good it's classic and it's to the point. Here you have the story of this character and that character, and more than half the time the show goes on telling tons amount of stories, especially in later episodes. The last 80 episodes were just allout filler. The show could have literally ended after 140 episodes and not 220. I'm fine with getting filler episodes but 80 episodes of filler, bringing up a new story every 3-4 episodes it's too much.
Toradora! (2008)
More of a rant than a review
Ok show with bad ending. I think I'm not the type of person who likes romance alot because it can take you on a rollercoaster of emotions. The show goes like this- Ryuji and Yusaku are friends, Taiga and Minori are friends. Ryuji has a crush on Minori, Ami has a crush on Ryuji, Taiga has a crush on Yusaku (even though he had crush on her before and she rejected him now she had a crush on him). Because Ryuji has a crush on Minori and Taiga has a crush on Yusaku, Taiga (Tiger) and Ryuji (Dragon) become sort of friends who try to help each other out. Tiger-Dragon (Toradora). Because they spend time together people starting to believe they are a couple at first glance. By the end they end up kissing which is wierd because he was more of a father figure to her than a boyfriend. Now why couldn't Ryuji end up with Minori? And still be friends with Taiga?? What's the problem with that? That would have worked. That's what should have happened! You watch so many episodes to reach to a good ending and you end up dissapointed. Who rate this so high?? Nothing here was built, fixed, solved, inspiring of some sort. Just feely all the way through. Could have been better.
Yu yu hakusho (1992)
Had Potential For More
The thing is it's a little wierd, I mean the story is wierd, but the show is actually worthwhile watching. I enjoyed it alot it has cool characters and really good ost.
The thing with the story is that the main character dies in the first episode and than in 5 episodes he is brought back to life, and from that moment on he is a spirit-detective that fights demons.
Like if he hadn't died in the first episode nothing would occur later on in this show. The story feels a little lack- the reasons for everything that happens, like it could have been better, but if you look at the show overall: the fights, the character, the team that forged together, the music. It's pretty awesome. It got me going. I enjoyed it.
Kotarou wa Hitorigurashi (2022)
Kotaro Lives Alone- Review
I know some might say it's dark and it is. But it is satisfying to see something realistic. Except the fact that a 4-year-old lives alone completely by himself. But that's the story and that's what the show is all about mainly.
It felt like the harsh truths of life is being thrown into your face.
So, appreciate what you have. Love your parents, love your husband/wife take care of them, love your children, give them the youth they need. Be kind to your surroundings and know to appreciate the closest people to you.
I wish the show had more than 10 episodes. The series felt short. I wish there would be more seasons coming up ahead. Even though I'm skeptical.
It gives you a perspective to life, go watch it.
Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san (2021)
Read my review to get a perspective
I don't know how I got to watch this show in the first place. It's nice to see a show that isn't all about fighting evil or defeating monsters. But the truth is, it has nothing really to offer. What the show is offering you are feelings. Apparently bullying does pay off! A girl named Nagatoro bullyies a young dude "Senpai" calling him in names even "vir*in" when is only 16 years old, bullying him into tears in the first episode and than going sado-mazo in the second. She toys with him, and the masochist likes it because a girl is paying attention to him. Most of the episodes are just them hanging out together.
From my personal experience I've had a toxic friend in my life. We were colleagues at work and we gratuated from college together. After graduation I broke up with him because I couldn't stand his behavior. Real friendship works out and lasts long when you respect your friend and he respects you back.
The point is that everyone is so "feely" in this show. I believe you can love someone but it doesn't mean you have to lose your head in the process. Rational analytical mindset is missing here. Not everything is so "feely" all the time. Seems like the author is referring himself considering the fact that he is a doujinshi artist and the main character likes art, manga and drawings as well and he is an artist too. It seems the author tries to deliver us "fanservice". I mean It's not a love story as much as it's a lust story. There is no "story" here.
