Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024)

Awesome effects

I love the effects in this movie! Godzilla, Kong, and all the creatures in this movie are all cool and don't look like Marvel cgi abominations which I appreciate. The acting was pretty good by the human actors. I really liked Dan Stevens Ace Ventura-like character, he was chill and I would like to explore uncharted territories with him. Brian Tyree Henry's character was a little bit annoying, but he wasn't the grating comic relief in these sort of films. Henry's character was alright. This movie features ASL which is cool. Godzilla was awesome. Kong was awesome. All the kaiju were awesome. All the creatures were awesome.

We'll that's my review, go see this movie, it's great.

Gulliver's Travels (2010)

This is the worst movie I've ever seen. Worse than Mac and Me, yes, MAC AND ME!!! Gulliver is a terrible character, he PLAGIARIZED a paper to woo a girl. WHAT THE HECK BRO!!!! That girl had every right to call him out, thank goodness. But then at the end of the movie, it's totally fine and she loves him? Huh? Look I like Jack Black, but this was a huge LOW. I also think the pop culture references are out of place here, this was adapted from a book from I think the 1800's, so these pop culture references are out of place. I'm not made at Jack Black, I'm mad at the idiots who greenlit this monstrosity. Also why is James Corden in this movie? Just why? I hate him soooooooo much. I need to stop before I loose my sanity.

Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008)

Interesting approach, but bad CGI

I've just finished "Journey to the center of the Earth" by Jules Verne so I decided to watch the movie starring Brendan Fraser. It's pretty good. It has an interesting approach by having the book in the movie as a guide to this world that Trevor , Hannah, and Sean go in. The cast is great. Brendan Fraser's one of my favorite actors alongside David Dastmalchian, Laverne Cox, and Joaquin Phoenix. He's great as Trevor and the woman who played Hannah was great too. Sean's actor could've done a bit better, but he's a child in this so I'll cut him some slack. One thing I don't like in this movie is the CGI. It looks like a video game, I also don't like the instances where objects just come at you on the screen making look like it was filmed for a 3D format.

Overall: 7/10.

Mac and Me (1988)

MST3K review was funny, but this was torture

I watched this movie through MST3K when Jonah, Tom Servo, and Crow had to endure "THE GAUNTLET," this movie though, if you try to block out Jonah and the robot's voices, is terrible.

This movie is painfully trying to be like E. T. E. T. is the superior film while this is just a joke. The film has bad writing, bad characters, awful costumes for the aliens, and the product placement is shameful.

A redeeming quality is that it's so bad, it's good. It's also funny as a gag that Paul Rudd shows the clip of Eric falling in the water as a way to drive Conan crazy. Like seriously, Paul's been doing it for years to Conan, it's hilarious.

Batman (1989)

One of the best Batman movies ever

Ok, with that little note out of the way, let's talk about this movie. This is easily one of the best Batman movies ever along side "The Batman" and "The Dark Knight," this movie shows how you can make a non-campy Batman movie that works for both fans and everyone else who wants to watch a superhero movie. Tim Burton was a great choice for directing, he makes Gotham a crime ridden city and Batman has to protect it. The cast is great. Jack Nicholson is a great Joker, easily the best behind Heath Ledger and Joaquin Phoenix. Michael Keaton's great as Batman, so much better than Ben Affleck (no I'll will towards him, he just wasn't very good). My only problem was with Kim Basinger, she screamed a lot and she kinda acted a jerk to Bruce Wayne (although it's understandable, but then again she could've just asked him if anything happened instead of berating him about it).

Set design: great, special effects: ehh, 80's chi was rough but hey what do I know. Everything else: 🖤🖤🖤🖤.

I love this movie and you probably will if you like comic books. Peace, love, cinema.

The Flash: Abra Kadabra (2017) Season 3, Episode 18

David Dastmalchian rules here

David Dastmalchian is in his prime here. I like how he makes this character villainous and is portrayed really well. Everyone does a good job here also, not just Dastmalchian. This is the only episode of this show I've watched and I liked it.

My only problem with it is the CGI. Ok I know it's TV cgi, but it's not great, but I do understand it's made for tv so it's a bit poor. The portals and Flash's runs looked weird, but oh well they had a tight budget. At least I think...I dunno.

I don't know if I'm going to watch the rest of the series, but we'll see. David, hope you had fun playing this character.

Smashed: Toxic Tales of Teens and Alcohol (2004 TV Movie)

Gruesome but educational

The movie shows us the dangers of drinking as a teen. Something I don't like is that they film the grieving/upset parents of the teens that should've known better. It just rubs me the wrong way, leave them alone, please.

I can handle gore, but this was gruesome, I couldn't even look. Dude the gore was real and it was disgusting. I can handle movie gore, real gore, that was too much. I get the purpose of this documentary, it's showing all these clips to prevent teen drinking, that's a good thing, but I wasn't a fan that they filmed the families, but I understand the purpose. And I'm thankful that some of the teens survived.

Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)

Pretty but too long

I thought this movie was fine. This sequel has been in development for a long time. It finally released in December last year and I went to go see it and it was fine. Ok, this movie looks gorgeous, the water scenes and the landscapes look amazing, the character designs are beautiful, it's pretty to look at. But why is it so long? Why 3 hours long. Personally, I think that's way too long, but to each their own. I haven't seen the first movie when I saw the sequel, I saw the sequel on a school field trip soooo...yeah. I think a seven out of ten is good for this movie. It could win some Oscar's, who knows, I'm rooting for GDT's Pinocchio and Everything Everywhere All at once. Do you want this movie to win a Oscar?

Signs (2002)

Stupid aliens, weird lines, and more. Welcome to "Signs"

This movie is ok. I like the cast, but I don't like the acting. The acting is awkward and the child actors (Rory Culkin and Abigail Breslin) don't do a great job but they're kids so I'll cut them some slack. But I have a question: Why do the aliens go to earth when they're like water-intolerant, I swear they thought "Hmm, let's go to this planet with water even though we could die. Muy bueno!" That's stupid. Also, why does the sergeant guy say to Joaquin Phoenix "Why aren't your toes getting licked by beautiful women?" (or something like that). Why? Is M Night really like "Yeah I'm a big filmmaker my toes get licked by pretty ladies." What the heck.
