Barbie (2023)
A FESTIVE, LIGHT-HEARTED COMEDY THAT SENDS MEANINGFUL MESSAGES ABOUT WOMANHOOD & SELF-LOVE.
This is the kind of movie I want my teenage daughter to grow up watching. To get to know and appreciate the flaws, strengths, and weaknesses that come with being a woman, whatever it is, 'Because Barbie can be anything, WE can be anything'.
I expected the movie Barbie to be about the origin of Barbie or about Barbie's adventures like most other Barbie animated movies, but it turned out to be much more than that. It really explores the value of empowering women, which is typical of Greta Gerwig.
I really enjoyed the first half of the film, mainly because of the beautiful scenery, colorful colors, and Barbieland. I was also surprised by how gorgeous Margot Robbie looks as Barbie, and the costumes and set designs are so beautiful. As the movie progresses, I realized that this movie will become more profound and emotional, and Ryan Gosling is fantastic as Ken, handsome, funny, and energetic. Even though Ken is "Kenough," the film does not ignore the role of men, and we love Allan. The movie is a bit dull at times, and some of the jokes are cringey, but it's still enjoyable to watch to the end.
I think the best part of the movie is the ending, when Barbie talks to Ruth in a really meaningful way. It's really touching and uplifting, with a really thoughtful message about womanhood and self-love.
Barbie (2023) might not be perfect and it might not be everyone's favorite, but hey, nothing's perfect, right?

Oppenheimer (2023)
Oppenheimer stands out as one of the decade's most captivating films and serves as a reminder that cinema is an endeavor that requires hard work and perseverance.
This film is heavily dominated by dialogues. If you are a fan of action-packed films, you might find it boring. Although the film revolves around the topic of an atomic bomb, don't expect to see numerous explosions throughout the movie. Instead, it focuses not on the scientific formation of an atomic bomb, although there are some theories explained briefly, but on detailing the journey of Oppenheimer with his ideas, knowledge, strategies, and all the complexities he faced in creating the atomic bomb, which was ultimately used on Japan.
This film is expensive and high-class, destined for the Oscars without a doubt. It features a star-studded cast, even the minor roles (despite having little screentime) are portrayed by familiar faces. It's incredible, really.
To this day, I just can't stop thinking about the Trinity scene. That's the pinnacle of the film, the moment when my breath was held, and my eyes were glued to the screen. It's remarkable how Nolan manages to make this scene so intense and chilling. Presented with impeccable visuals, music, and acting that needs no doubt, I am truly impressed with this film. The ending was nothing short of a masterpiece that left me with a deep sense of emotion.
Surprisingly, this is one of the few Nolan films that I could still understand without being perplexed (apart from its scientific theories). I wish I had a better grasp of the science behind the atomic bomb in this film so that I could give it a rating of 10/10.
Thank you Mr. Nolan and Mr. Cillian, you have once again reminded me of the beauty of the cinematic world.

Inside Llewyn Davis (2013)
Great Movie for showing the complexities of art & success from the point of view of a struggling musician.
To be honest, this typical film might be boring for ordinary and amateur film enjoyer like me because the pacing is very slow, there are no fantastic scenes and actions, eke plot twists in it. However, this film is very thick with the deepening story of the main character. The complexity of Llewyn Davis' character is very well illustrated by the extraordinary acting of Oscar Isaac and WOW He really can Sing! Throughout the film, the atmosphere is very melancholic, sad, and depressing which makes the visuals and music sink me deep to join into the story and sympathize with all the hardships and struggles that Llewyn is experiencing.
The most impressive scene is when Llewyn perform for Bud Grossman, with a full emotions and great performance, but still, in Grossman's eyes, Llewyn is not impressive enough for the industry. The scene felt so realistic and somehow satisfied me. Even though the storyline is relatively flat, there are no super actions or surprises, this film depicts the sacrifices, struggles and realities faced by musicians for a career in the music industry. Digging deep in an effort to achieve success that feels very realistic because in fact the journey to success is not always smooth, right?
Overall, I can enjoy this film as well as being my springboard to be able to explore more genres of drama films with a slow pacing and a focus on in-depth character narratives with hopes for the future, not just films with fantastic scenes or full of plot twists that can impress me, but melancholic musical drama films like Inside Llewyn Davis can also be an inspiration and an entertainment that I can enjoy. Great Movie for showing the complexities of art & success from the point of view of a struggling musician.
