Fascinating story!
I am baffled why so many people hated this movie. I loved it! People seem upset that too many things were unrealistic.. like the underground people surviving by eating only rabbits. Who cares? The story is fascinating!! Tons of horror movies have things that aren't very realistic.. like "Choose or Die" a movie about a video game that forces you to kill people. Realistic? No! Interesting? Yes!
I love the ending where the two women were actually switched as kids. I think the girl who was underground who then lived above ground had surpressed her memories of the underground... and only remembered the day of the "switch" thru the perspective of the other girl. These two were special and more attached than the other people with their duplicates.
My interpretation of the ending is that the woman that was originally underground as a girl killed the woman who was currently underground (in red). But that their souls truly merged together as one at this point..... the woman living above ground in the very end now (with her family in the car) has ALL the memories of both versions of herself.. she remembers everything from the past from both worlds. Which is why her face looks kind of shocked at the end.
Stutz (2022)
Incredible, Vulnerable, Touching
This documentary is so good for the soul. This therapist (Stutz) is so wise. Jonah and Stutz are extremely vulnerable. Jonah speaking about his insecurities growing up overweight... Stutz speaking about his childhood and his Parkinson's disease. Makes you really understand that everyone is going through something, perfection is impossible, BUT there are so many tools to make life better and good.
The black and white of the film, and the camera always looking straight into whoever is speaking makes it feel more intimate.
Also- both Stutz and Jonah are hilarious together.
Well done making this film Jonah.
