The Bourne Supremacy (2004)
Not as Supreme as the "bourne Identity"
The first movie "Bourne Identity" was much better. Had more of a plot, MORE action and kept you on the edge of your seat. This 2nd movie had a lot of dead spots. It should have had more fighting, more action
Shanghai Knights (2003)
The magic is gone
This sequel from Shaghai Noon is a dismal attempt to recreate the magic between Wilson and Chan. it's not there and they try to hard to be funny so that it is not funny whereas in the first 1 it just naturally flowed. I have to say Hollywood is really cranking out junk for movies now in general.
Children of Dune (2003)
"Children of Dude!"
This is by far the longest running version of Dune to date. With this latest conception I was always waiting for something to happen and it never did! Never in my life have a seen a production that had so much promise fall so short. Go back to the 1984 version. These actors had heart, soul, you really believed in them and it drew you into the movie. This latest incarnation did not do this to me. All I was watching was a bunch of people acting and believing that what they were doing was with passion but it had nothing and falls flat on it's face. I bet the actors put in some grueling harsh hours because it shows, no one has any energy and no one makes me believe they are real. I bet no one on the set even watches Star Trek! It's sad to say but in this day & age if you get 2-3 GOOD movies a year you are fortunate. Hollywood is so intent on making a buck that their cranking out anything in shotgun style in hopes of hitting the target.
Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002)
Save your Gold - this movie is NOT funny!
After 2 minutes I knew this movie was going to be bad but I lingered in the hope that it would get better. it did not ... in fact the bathroom jokes got worse and the humor was awful. The first Austin Powers movie was good but after that it just keeps getting worse. Even the other people in the audience which numbered about 75 hardly laughed at the movie so I know it just was not me. Probably the most creative part of the movie is the opening and then it falls flat on its face.
There is not even an apparition of what really is the theme. The movie was just done up to make money with no real passion in the acting OR creative aspect of really making a funny movie.
This has got to be one of the worst movies I have seen in a long time.
Reign of Fire (2002)
Hiccups of Smoke
This movie had some good potenital.WARNING!! WARNING!! Something about the MOVIE: More should have be spent on the theme between the animosity of the Dragons and man than dreary human interactions between the people involved. It was lagging for at least half the movie. More fighting between the dragons would have been more appropriate for this type of action movie. Acting was adequate and effects and dragon effects were nicely done.
Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)
A Clone is NEVER as good as the original!
Star Wars came and went a long time ago and they have been trying to recreate the magic ever since. This movie was trying to make you think it had a plot but the magic was never there! Very translucent development of a story trying to be something when all it's real saying is "Let's make a few beaming lights move around ... " FAILS miserably. The acting was wretchedly horrible!
The movie just drrr---aaa----gggg--eee----ddd along way to slowly. Only regret I had is that I didn't walk out. I started to but then the movie abruptly ended.
I guess if you have the mind of a 10 year old it might seem compelling but don't waste your time on this one. I'm glad I only wasted my money on the matinee. I also as of the last movie and those coming FOREVER in the future I will NEVER buy their totally outrageous expensive snacks and candies. That's how the dirtbags make their $$ anyway!
The Time Machine (2002)
Let's go back to the past and not make this movie!
One hundred and twenty-two million dollars for the budget! That's $122,000,000 for a film that lacks depth, any good thread of originality in it's creative impact that it should have for the money spent. They should have spared everyone the special effects of "Dreamworks" animation techniques and maybe invested some of those millions into a good screenwriter. Only thing John Logan (screenwriter) did any justice too was "Gladiator" This movie was compactly made to wow everyone with it's special effects which in all reality was not that much. It was also made to make you feel like you should say wow after the movie is over but I felt empty. I think the original made in 1960 was much better. I think when we reflect on when their was no special effects, etc the movie HAD to have depth. This cannot be replaced or manufactured. I went to the Matinee so I only paid $5.75. Save your money and rent the old one. This is going to be a technological "Waterworld"
eXistenZ (1999)
Let's have scrambled eggs for breakfast!
I have seen this movie twice and it's theme is an invigorating one. I have been into computers for many years now and this movie inspired me in a technologically sense as does a fresh love which stoked the furnace of my poetic passion in the heat of infatuation. Very original idea, great allurement in the way it holds you as it tells it's story to minds that need a release from the every day realities of this life.
Bubble Boy (2001)
Worst movie I ever seen in my life!
I rented this movie and shut it off after an excruciating 20 minutes of playtime. You could tell it was awful right from the get go. What makes it worse is that they make a mockery of the real "Bubble Buy" - Tod Lubitch life and family. Nuff said!
