Everything's Gonna Be All White (2022)
Racist through and through.
Nothing but malicious and racist intent behind this production. If you want to watch something that is the epitome of contradiction, then go ahead and watch this.
Absolutely disgraceful.
Terminator Genisys (2015)
Well-executed
I was sceptical going to the theatre to see this.
I'm not too sure what people have against it - and no, I'm not really caring to ask. The effects were great, the 1984 scenes were recreated almost perfectly shot-for-shot as the original (too bad Bill Paxton didn't reprise his role as one of the punks at the observatory).
If I could pick one thing to complain about, it's that I thought the role of John Connor was poorly cast; there's nothing wrong with the actor or his acting, I just felt he didn't have as commanding a presence as somebody like Christian Bale. But that's nit-picking. The actress playing Sarah Connor did a great job, and did remind me of Linda Hamilton in certain ways, minus the big 80's hair.
I'm not a fan of comic relief for the sake of just throwing it in, and I think this movie handles comedic parts respectably.
It's a movie about time travel and killer robots, people...quit bitching about it and just enjoy it, as it completely makes up for Terminator 3.
Curse of the Zodiac (2007)
wtf?!
This movie looks like it was shot by a bunch of film school students. I can say this because I was a film student and the crap I churned out looked very similar, though I would hope my stuff had a bit more entertainment value.
Turned it off after less than 10 minutes. Probably less than 5. Lucky for me, though, as I got this free from the library - I know there are many more people out there who weren't so fortunate.
If you've got a consumer video camera, which is what this movie looks like it was shot on, shoot a video of a dog taking a crap and then watch that; you'll be more entertained, and there will be much more creativity.
Canadian Bacon (1995)
An even more appropriate movie in this post Sept. 11 world with Bush at the helm.
I last saw this movie a few years ago, shortly after its release on VHS.
Over the past few years, I've come to the realization that 'Canadian Bacon' could be closer to reality than we think because there will come a time when a new president (or maybe Bush Jr. himself) will find themselves in a rut and need to do something to stir the pot.
Look what September 11 did for Bush's popularity in America. I'm not saying that he wanted it to happen, but I'm sure that he, along with a lot of people, realize that it made him (in the eyes of a few) a very likable guy.
If you haven't seen 'Canadian Bacon', I urge you to do so. It was one of John Candy's last great performances. It's been a while since I've seen it, and I intend to have another viewing or two shortly.
