Megan Is Missing (2011)

From a disturbing horror fan; don't watch this movie

This movie is NOT worth watching. I am a fan of disturbing cinema and horror as a whole. This movie is not a disturbing horror movie like Martyrs, where it's intense but meaningful.

This movie is nothing but smut that seems to be intended for a select group of very suspicious fans. There isn't a single aspect of this movie that provokes even the most elementary of thoughts. I do not for a minute believe this movie is meant to make its viewers aware of the harsh reality around online chatrooms. From the early parts of the movie, the scenes being depicted with children involved in sexual acts with adults was a red flag. There was far too much time spent with children recounting sexual experiences with other minors and adults.

I can only label this movie as a perverted fetish piece meant for controversy, and I think that's giving it the benefit of doubt. Again, don't watch this. If you want to see a disturbing movie that provokes thought and is as graphic, if not more so, I recommend 7 Days, the 2010 French film. Megan Is Missing is the first movie I've seen that I would be happy to see banned from mainstream platforms.

Little Demon (2022)

Builds into better writing

I was happy with the show from the beginning, but the critiques of bad writing were fair. The writing in the first 4 episodes started out as being pretty predictable and lacked anything that made it stand out. The show was definitely riding on perfect voice casting and a relatively fun concept.

After watching the most recent episode, 5, I think that it's finally coming into it's place. The characters are more fleshed out and the conflicts they encounter spawn some pretty good jokes. I feel like this was the first episode where there were original jokes and an original premise with the Chrissy and Laura plotline.

I would love to see more from the show and think that the potential is there for it to be a great adult cartoon. Unfortunately the general consensus doesn't offer a positive outlook and I'm pretty sure the show will end up being cancelled soon enough. Hopefully more people will give the show a chance rather than write it off as a dud after only 4 average episodes.

I recommend checking it out, despite what a lot people say.

Edit: Easy 9 at this point. 9 episodes in and I'm hooked. The story gets really good and the animation is great. All of the side plots have been hilarious, especially with the Rats vs Roaches plot.
