Maidaan (2024)
Ajay Sir Never Disappointed Us
So today I went to watch the movie Maidaan. I didn't expect much because they didn't do any kind of grand promotions. The movie didn't have much hype, so I didn't expect much. However, a certain type of audience has been eagerly awaiting its release since the announcement. Now I can clearly say this was the finest sports drama movie ever made in India. Hats off to the makers, I mean Ajay Devgn. He is a one-man army, by God. The older he gets, the better movies and performances he delivers. What a performance given by Ajay sir and the rest of the actors! Every actor did a fine job. Rudranil and Gajraj Rao are the antagonists of this movie. I'm telling you; you will hate them while watching this movie. What a great performance they put in their roles!
The first hour will test your patience because they build the whole scenario slowly. However, I can say this is a slow burn; it will engage you and emotionally attach you. After the first hour, the pace picks up and you will be pumped up. You will shout and clap, enjoying it as if you're watching a real football match.
Anyway, go watch it in the cinemas. It is pure cinema. I personally would give this 4/5 stars."
Shaitaan (2024)
Shaitaan is a decent work, not extraordinary, nor a bad experience.
"Today, I went to watch 'Shaitaan' starring Ajay Devgan, R Madhavan, Janki Bodiwala, and Jyotika. To be very honest, in my opinion, the movie was decent, not extraordinary, nor a bad experience. However, the performance that stole the show was R Madhavan's character, Vanraj. The performance given by Madhavan was absolutely commendable. Ajay Devgan and Jyotika were good but not remarkable. Ajay's role was typical of a Drishyam-type character, a man who wants to protect his family. By the way, the girl who played Ajay's daughter was also good; her performance was quite impressive.
Let's talk about the story and plot. In my view, the story and plot were very predictable. While watching, I found myself guessing what would happen next. It's a family-friendly movie that you can enjoy with your family. There are no bad words, nudity, or adult scenes, which I think is also a negative point of this movie because it had the potential for a stronger screenplay and story. They could have used a darker element to cater to a mature audience, but they didn't. I don't know why they made this choice. Lastly, if you think this is a horror movie, you're wrong, so please adjust your expectations. The movie delivers good thrills but doesn't focus on horror.
In the end, I enjoyed it because I went with my friends. One of them made jokes about the movie's flaws, which added to the experience. If I had gone alone, I would have been bored. Overall, I give it a 7/10."
Laapataa Ladies (2023)
Kiran Rao and her team just nailed it.
Today, I went to the theatre to experience Kiran Rao's new movie, "Laapataa Ladies." I was stunned when I watched the movie. The performances, storytelling, humor, and social messages were outstanding. Initially, I wasn't very interested in seeing her new movie, considering Kiran Rao had directed only one movie in her career, "Dhobi Ghat." However, knowing that she is Aamir Khan's ex-wife and has been a co-director, writer, and producer of many good films, I decided to give it a try.
Let's talk about the movie. The cast is entirely new; actors and actresses are all new faces to me. But they gave their best in the movie, especially Pratibha Ranta and Ravi Kishan. The social message part of the movie was really good, highlighting how women were treated like servants or slaves. They showed various issues, including agricultural problems, that exist in India.
The movie is set in the 20s era when mobile phones were just introduced in India, and the only game was the snake game on Nokia mobiles, so there was no internet, no Gen Z, and no adult scenes. It was a purely cinematic experience. The girl who stole my heart is Nitanshi Goel. She is so cute, man. I loved her. She is now added to my crush list.
Anyway, you should watch this movie if you want to see some good wholesome social drama. This movie will absolutely win your heart. I give this movie 4.5/5. Lastly, I want to share something that happened in the theatre. A guy who was working at INOX, where I watched the movie, asked me, "Sir, boi ta kemon laaglo ar etake apni koto star deben out of 5." I told him the same rating that I gave in this review.
Article 370 (2024)
I just want to say, the performance given by Yami Gautam was brilliant
When the trailers for both 'Crakk' and 'Article 370' were released, I wasn't interested in watching either of them. However, my mind was changed after I saw the reviews on social media, with everyone praising the movie. So, I went and watched the movie, and my experience was good. I just want to tell you guys, don't miss the beginning of the movie. Ajay Devgan narrates and briefs everything through a short story. The movie is divided into chapters, with 6 in total, and I loved the 2nd, 3rd, and 6th ones. Chapter 6th gives you goosebumps when Mota Bhai presents the bill. The best part of the movie is the performances. Yami Gautam nailed the role she was portraying. I can easily say this is her best performance to date. Another great aspect of the movie is that it doesn't blame the opposition for the wrongdoings. Whatever your ideologies and political beliefs, keep them aside and go watch the movie.
