In Your Dreams (2023)
Sheer brilliance
I'm only two episodes in but felt compelled to write a review. I'm easily distracted but this got me hooked in the first few minutes, I was riveted. Great plot, mystery, many humorous moments and I really cared about the characters.
A statue, when held and chanted to has the power to make you live your dreams. The thing is, as we generally don't have much control over our dreams you really don't know what might come to light. The results are unexpected and there are some genuine laugh out load moments. The chemistry between the characters is great and I felt the acting was impeccable. I'm going to binge the last four episodes tonight and I can't wait!
Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
Every decision you make can create a different reality!
As the teachings of Albert Einstein show us how we can create our own reality, this movie gives us an amazing insight into the cause and effect our actions can have within our own lives and the entire multiverse. If you've explored the possibility of how every decision we make can take you in a different direction and create an alternate version of yourself, then you'll love it. Michelle Yeoh does an amazing job of playing a stressed out wife running round on the hamster wheel of life barely catching her breath. She is presented with another version of her husband that takes her on a journey of her other selves whilst he teaches her how to switch realities and draw in the gifts and talents from other versions of herself to change the reality she is living. It really is very enlightening! A mix of sci fi, comedy, romance and some great psychological insights as it explores the relationship with her family and how she came to be at the crossroads in her life that wakes her up and explores what's 'out there'. Sometimes it feels completely crackers but I found myself laughing out load and totally aligning with those moments. A treat if you like to stretch your mind and think outside the box!
Undone (2019)
A beautiful version of spirituality
If you're on the spiritual path then this is for you. I've watched both seasons twice now and will probably watch again as it fills me with a wonderful sense of calm. There's some deep psychological analysis going on too, reaching down to the source of the issues down the genetic line, but providing some grounded entertainment too, along with plenty of mystery. Highly recommend.

True & Wonderful
This is a true story for anyone who wants to realise & follow their dreams. Jake Gyllenhall is brilliant as Homer, 17 year old young man aspiring to learn rocket science whilst his respected father runs the town coal mine, wanting his son to follow suit.
A coming of age tale that has some great moments for Homer and his three friends whilst encountering numerous twists & turns in the story. The family drama is well captured and many of us middle aged folk will relate to the parenting style of that era .
Teenagers could learn from this too & enjoy the ride. It is heartfelt, funny, emotional & carries a deep lesson for us all. Undoubtedly 10/10.
