Wheels (2014)
Some secrets you keep will paralyze you.
A touching and often funny deep dive into the lives of a group of people with barely the resources to survive being homeless in Los Angeles. Two wheel-chair friends decide to pair up and share the burdens of their mental, emotional, and physical pain, limitations, and suffering. Finding comfort in anything they can reach for from their chairs, they do all they can to stave off an impending knowledge that they simply do not fit in society, and the sooner they come to terms with that, the sooner society can be finally rid of them. Once their greatest fears are met full on, we see the beauty and frailty in life they had so long ago lost faith in.
Craving (2023)
Colorful and chock full of stories
I watched this the first time at the premier. So I had the advantage of seeing this on the big screen. Full of magentas, blues and yellows, the lighting in the film gives it's allure as a horror movie. The story centers around a group of desperados who are themselves being hunted by desperados. All in the hopes of keeping their secrets safe. The bonds of friendship and the codes of loyalty are pulled tight, as the bar patrons, the desperados and the posse waiting outside for them hold the lines between life and death. But there is a bigger secret at play. A monster is among them and this best is without a code. It's the force of chaos that may wants to take them all. Colorful, bloody, twisted horror fun.
