Rambo (2008)
The final Rambo wrapped up in 91 Mins?
I got to admit, when I watched the first trailer a while ago I had mixed feelings about the movie. The original "First Blood" had a great storyline and you rooted from Rambo. We move 20+ years to now and we see a John Rambo in the middle of nowhere hunting snakes? I understand they were trying to show light on a terrible situation in Burma, how ever I was a hard stretch for me to go along with it. The story line and acting are a 5 out of 10 at best. However, the graphic and just insane acting scenes make up for that.
As I followed the storyline and about halfway into the movie, it just seem ed a little to easy for Rambo to take out 100's of bad buys with one large gun plowing away into the fields. I mean within 20 minutes the whole movie wrapped up and I was left with the feeling of..... "wait thats it" If you are going to wrap up a 4 movie series within 91 minutes it just didn't add up to me. I expected a little better acting and a longer story.
7 out of 10 @ best.
American Gangster (2007)
Entertainment Yes! Based Very Loosey On a True Story Also!
I really enjoyed the movie by all means. All the characters brought something to the table. Before watching the movie, I did my research on the huge Harlem heroin epidemic in the late 60's and early 70's. I learned about the key players involved in the movie which really made it a lot more enjoyable. Its really funny how all the "King Pins" were suppose to be these "Hardcore Gangsters" who ran Harlem, but in really it was just clicks of 5 or 10 people who were friends in the drug business. Yes, they had respect, but they lost it as quickly as they got it. And in the end, all of them "Ratted,Turned,Flipped" what ever you want to call it. They all sold each other out like cowards to save their behinds. So, you can call them American.... But way to far from Real Gansters.
White Noise 2: The Light (2007)
I Saw The Light!
I watched the original and thought it was OK... When I found out there was a part 2, I thought to myself "Are You Joking". I got a chance to see this movie recently and wow, way better then I ever expected! The storyline make sense. The charters are believable. The special effects and creepy scenes are great.
Instead of the original, they should have taken Michael Keaton paycheck and invest it in this movie. The acting and the plot was good enough for the big screen. I watched it with my girlfriend and the movie got 3 or 4 good screams out of her! I would strongly recommend this movie if you want a good Friday Night Scare.
Next (2007)
Are you kidding me?
I got a chance to see this movie at a privet screening. Lets just say, I was at the right place at the right time.I must admit, most of the people there were "posh" and in the movie land. I tried to watch the movie, but after the first 30 minutes of really poor FXs and lame storyline I was hard to. The story is so far fetched and lame it just doesn't add up. It has no backbone or real time frame to make any sense. The Mr Cage is just killlllling me, his laid back attitude with bullets flying at him. Just because you think you know the future, doesn't mean it cant be changed... COME ON!!! I would not recommend this movie unless National Treasure was all rented out. Skip this one.
Grandma's Boy (2006)
Oscar WORTHY! almost!
I purchased the DVD a while ago not know what to expect. I knew since the adam sanders was behind it, it should be decent. WHAT A SURPRISE! This has got to be one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time. All the acting and jokes are right on point. Even the story line makes some sense! The entire group of actors make this a great movie. "TJ the robot freak is awesome" and The "dealer" bring in all the animals is just great! I must admit, this is one DVD you need to buy. I have watched it almost 10 or 12 times and laugh my ass off on each occasion. GET THIS DVD!!!! Im surprise the ranking is not at least a 7.5 or higher! GREAT MOVIE!
Thr3e (2006)
Poor Acting, Poor Script, Poor Movie.
Well, as always my great girlfriend picked another classic movie for us to watch. When I saw the trailer, I had my doubts already. This movie was a washed down version of Saw, without the creepy death scenes. The "Riddle Killer" come on! The acting by the two female actors was a 2 of 10 Stars at best. The lead female officer always talked like she was whispering on the phone. After hearing her talk for 5 minuets I wanted to turn off the film... I think there must have been 5 or 6 explosions doing the movie, which looked so staged and fake it was pathetic. The movie would have had a good chance if better actors were attached to it and more money was in the budget for "Real" looking FX. As for the thr3e, I would pass my 9 dollars to see it.
